Ab wheel or Repeat: “Fab Abs” Day #7

Hi!! It’s our 7th day…Congrats for making it 1 week in our Fab Abs Challenge. I would say that the first week is the hardest. Your body has been in shock and your ABS most definitely have been sore because of the extra effort.

 

I expect that this next week will be very encouraging to you~

  • you won’t get as sore
  • you will see improvement in your coordination
  • you will see your core strength improve
  • you may even notice some new definition in your waist

Today’s Challenge is to either do this fun little ab/shoulder workout or REPEAT on of your favorite challenges from the previous days.

Seasons….Spring is here!

It’s interesting how life progresses….It’s always a battle to stay balanced through each “SEASON”.  Weather seasons last just 3 months but life seasons last odd amounts of time and seem to change without warning–I’m not sure I like that?  My life seasons seem to last anywhere from 1 to 3 years–and most certainly contain some “Indian summers” within each one, lol!!

Most recently in 2011 I went through a season of Transition– (spring) Prior to that in 2009-2010 I went through a season of change, rest and challenge–(fall/winter). Previous to that in 2005-2008 I went through an excited, dream filled,  productive, growth,  season… (summer) And previous to that, well….I can’t remember!  I was in the throws of FULL-ON MOTHERHOOD, lol!! 2001-2004 were my crazy busy momma years!  (fall/winter)

Looking forward…It only makes sense that it’s time to revisit the  “Excited Dream Filled Productive Growing Season”, another SUMMER of my life!!  …BUT FIRST I must go through a SPRING….

Spring time is about Planting, prepping, preparing, fertilizing, pollinating, WORKING!  It’s about laying the foundation for a productive GROWTH season– It’s about putting in the work needed to make harvest time plentiful!

What to do I need to do in EACH area of my personhoood to have the best spring possible??

Mind– DREAM about each seed planted…PLAN for the outcome I desire…PREPARE with a mindset that will allow no other outcome than success…Stay positive throughout any challenges that could through my harvest plans off target…Take a flexible, yet diligent mindset to every task at hand.

Body– work it, feed it, rest it properly so that each day will be productive…Once harvest time comes I want to have the physical energy to enjoy it!  I am living for the long haul…I won’t overtax my system and over burden myself– I will slow down the pace enough to smell the flowers! Each day will be a physical triumph– my body was made for the labor in  front of me this SPRING and each season to come!!

Spirit– I will press into the deep reason behind my existence– what is my purpose?  What is the ULTIMATE GOAL of my labors? I am meant to love and show love to others.  Every thought in my mind and each physical act should reflect the love I have been given by GOD for others.  I can’t control if others accept that love, but I can live through that SPIRIT!

A HUGE part of my season right now is teaching my children.  My 12 year old son and my 10 & 9 year old daughters need my guidance, instruction and TIME!  When they were younger I was FORCED to give them time…now it’s more MY CHOICE.  I need to be ON PURPOSE about investing in them…I need to be self sacrificing and self less enough to realize this “SEASON” is a SPRING TIME in their life.  What they learn NOW will reap a harvest later in my children’s life– it want it to be a GOOD harvest!

Teaching them about responsibility, pressing into their talents, working hard, finishing jobs, being a good friend, about their bodies, about the world, etc…It’s my job, not the TV’s or their friends or their school teacher’s….The JOB is mine!  Time to PLANT within them the seeds of Success!!

MY life is not only about my kids, nor do I think It’d be healthy if it was just about them.  I look at my life in quadrants– Like a pie– 1/4 of it is about partner in life to my husband!  EVERY portion of the PIE is owned by my GOD…He’s the ruler over each piece.  I have 100% confident that HE is good and will guide me the wisdom I need for each area of my life.

The tricky part of each season is to practice that wisdom and show to stay properly balanced in each area of life without staying “static” or just maintaining.  The goal is to continually GROW weather it be Spring, Summer, Fall or even Winter!  I’m thankful that I am in a “Spring” of my life…it’ll make it that much easier to grow, enjoy, dream and produce!!  I love it…SPRING IS HERE!!

Have you thought about what “season” of life you are in?  Rest assured that what you do today will affect the length and outcome of not only this season, but those to come.  I pray that no matter where you are at, you will press into being your best!!  Keep BELIEVING that you can attain your DREAMS!!

Why did you enter the SSS contest by BuffMother?
I entered the SSS contest to attempt to get into the best shape of my life. I have done that and more as far as I am concerned. For years, I had sabotaged my body with anorexia and bulimia. I have been healthy for 7 years now. I always thought that I had messed up my metabolism for good because I could not see any difference in the saddlebags below my butt. Since I have joined the SSSS contest, I kept up with the weekly mini challenges and actually carried them all the way through until the end. I am now squatting and lunging with 50 lbs of free-weights and have seen a major difference in the saddlebags. I don’t think I ever stuck anything out until the end like I did with this contest. I loved every minute of it!

What tactics did you use to stay focused and engaged for the entire 70 days?
I made sure I had all of my protein servings planned out each day and kept track of what I ate. I made sure I ate 5-6 times per day so I would not feel hungry. Any time I wanted to cheat I would think of how great I would feel and look at the end of this contest if I didn’t cheat. It was impossible not to cheat for the full 70 days. I do have to say, this contest kept me in check. In 70 days, I only missed 3 days of workouts and cheated a few of times. I have never done that before. I have amazed myself.

How do you feel about your success?
I feel great about the way I look now and I am going to keep striving to make more improvements. My goal is to be doing 200 lunges 4-5 times per week with 50 lbs of free weights within the next month.

What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to attain your goals?
Lack of sleep. I work nights and don’t get home until after 12:30 AM most nights and the kids are up by 6. I do have to say, fatigue was my biggest obstacle, but once I got my workout done, I felt great and felt like I accomplished something. Another obstacle was my two little guys always wanting to come and workout with me in the basement. It was tough at first, but I then decided to invite them to workout with me. They have fun doing it and it makes me laugh.

“All Star” Leslie of TX

Leslie’s fitness goals and challenges are a bit different than many of myclients. She wanted to have more curves and add some muscle to her “skinnyfat” body. Being a mother of 2 daughters, one of them being diabetic, Leslie knows the importance of being a good example to her kids. Leslie worked out for years without getting the results she desired but now on Hormonal Timing,Leslie is finally seeing the progress she craved. Utilizing the power of the Boosting phase has enabled her to finally regain her youthful shape. She is very excited to have her best body ever !

Leslie’s Testimony:

I have always known that I get PMS symptoms every month. Cramps, bloating, irritability,sleepiness, you name it…It was responsible for sabotaging my fitness efforts.Hormonal Timing, along with the supplements that Michelle recommends, have dramatically improved how I feel and how I perform. I think my “light bulb moment” was when I started counting my food portions. Why did you enter the SSS contest by BuffMother?

I entered the SSS contest so I could be more accountable for the work I need to do to reach my goals.  I love the challenges and support I get in these challenges. It seems like all entrants want EVERYONE to succeed.
What tactics did you use to stay focused and engaged for the entire 70 days? I tried to check in often and keep up to date with everyone’s blogs.  I tried to be honest about my efforts and sometimes LACK of effort.  I took some focus off eating and just tried to meet each mini-challenge head on so I could see the most result.  Most of all I tried to find more of a balance in all areas.  It seems as though sometimes when I get dedicated to workouts or eats that my home and family suffer.  This time I really tried to make sure I attacked from all directions so NO part of my world was neglected.
How do you feel about your success? I am happy with the scale weight I have lost.  I love that my belt is 2 holes tighter now.  I would’ve loved to have seen even more but who doesn’t want MORE?  Just fuels me for heading into holidays and BEYOND!!
What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to attain your goals? With my 3 girls and all their activities it is mostly a time and energy obstacle.  I sometimes get into a mental slump and I really had to reach out and push past all of that to keep going.
What would you like to tell the world about BuffMother? I just want everyone to come here and spend time get to know all these lovely ladies.  It is one of the most wonderful places to be and can really help you stay on track and learn so many new things!
