Each and every new month, I like to give myself a theme and set specific goals for my fitness. I am a big believer that “MAINTENANCE” is a myth- we are either moving forward or backwards in life, and more specifically in our fitness!
My goal is to keep the mojo I’ve gained over the past couple months!
I have 2 specific fitness goals:
1- I want to stay excited for Tennis…I’ve changed my lesson day to Tues and added in a FRIDAY Drills day!! the extra time on the court will help me to keep progressing!!
2- Based upon my “after” photos from the SSS I need to be STAUNCH about work my legs/booty HARD at least 2x’s a week !!
As for a theme of the month…I am all over sharing success stories. I’ve had good intentions for a long time about this goal– but keep putting it off and being lax about updating www.BuffMother.com with them. NO MORE– this month is all about giving PROPS to some amazing TEAM BUFFMOTHER ladies.
Speaking of which, I continue to get SSS contest entries (I’ve emailed confirmation to everyone whom I’ve received) !! thanks so much for all the effort and kind words!! The SSS was a SUCCESS!! The last day to get your entry in is MONDAY the 5th.
This week has been a bit of a mish, mosh for workouts– nothing structured, just doing whatever I want. I’ll start back to more of a set routine come next week-
Monday- tennis with my girls
Tues- Push ups and other chest exercises, plus some squats, a short run + 4 sprints
Wed- Tennis and Trampoline, Did photos, Walk during trick or treat– Here’s a video of me BOUNCING AROUND! LOL!!
Yesterday I did a mish mosh of exercises– Bench, shoulder press, bicep curls, dips, dead lifts, abs
TGIF ladies, I’m heading out for my run in a bit– it’s very nice here today!
November “Thank You!!” Month~

I challenge YOU to make the most of the Thanksgiving season and make November “Thank You!!” Month~
Here’s some tips and ideas on how to do it:
1– take 10 minutes today and make a list of all the people in your life that you could say “thank you” to …aim for a list of 30- one for each day of November
2– take a couple minutes each day to say “Thank You” to that person at the beginning of your daily journal status or blog post
3– make sure to follow through by thanking them personally too!

NOV 2- Thank you my Family!!
So for this second day of the month, I’d like to say “Thank YOU” to my Family…Meaning my extended family…My parents, siblings, the in laws, etc…I want to thank them for all the love and support they given me through the years. Family is important because at the end of the day, no one will ever care for you as much as your family.
I picked today to thank them because it is my youngest brothers birthday today, Matthew is 24 now married and on his honeymoon!! Happy Birthday! I think God was preparing me a bit for motherhood by giving me a brother that was 14 years younger than me. I babysat him a ton the first 2 years of his life! And then I got a car, so I managed to do it less as I grew older, lol!

Nov 3- Thank YOU TEAM BUFFMOHTER “ORIGINALS”!!
I want to thank the Originals!!! The original founding leaders of TEAM BUFFMOTHER and our Private Women’s only area www.TheRallyRoom.com. Did you know that at that we started way back when as a Yahoo! group?? I don’t believe yahoo groups even exist anymore, lol!! We quickly out grew that format and as members wanted more security, leaders began to emerged there….The “originals” were invited in in Jan of 2006 prior to us even opening the our membership area to the world on March 1, 2006. They tested it and were instrumental in welcoming all the newcomers when we did open up.
Since then they have all made an enormous impact on countless members of TEAM BUFFMOTHER and the Rally Room, including ME!!
Thank YOU so much for your devotion, positive energy and leadership in making TEAM BUFFMOTHER and the Rally Room the BEST support group for women in the WORLD!!!

It was cycle day 2 for me and I felt pretty good overall, despite some back pain and being tired by 8pm.
I did “cheat” on my diet with a piece of “election” cake my DD Gracie made. She made it to celebrate Romney’s win and said she’d throw it away of Obama won. Then this morning she changed her tune– She’s a born polotician, lol!

I’m sorry about your sciatic– I have some of the same issues with my butt. I was in realy tough shape with it 3 years ago, now it’s just a bit of a pain in the rear (and down my leg)
A few things that have helped mine:
CREATINE! and ENZYME supplementation
Stretching my HIP FLEXORS
SQUATS- it’s very therapeutic to OPEN up my hips
LOWER LUMBAR CURVE- totally focusing on exaggerating it
Back bend type stretching–
Lower back extension machine focus on booty popping (use HIPS for motion)– it’s hard to explain without a visual but it works
ROTATION and movement in my hips- think belly dancing and hula dancing and other dancing moves– My hips were “locked” when my sciatic was bad
LIMITING stretching– STRETCHING can be “bad” at times
Massage– I have a wonderful masseuse who really helped me out by working thorough the knots in my butt and hip
STANDING– I basically didn’t sit down for 2 years
Different shoes- I find it best to have my heels up– that’s why I like my shox– if you are a suponator and wear shoes made for pronation it can really hurt your sciatic because it over stretches it and puts pressure on it
Limiting the treadmill– I think part of what hurt my butt was running on the treadmill too fast (it throws your hips back in an unnatural way)

This weekend was a good one~
Saturday morning my hubby shot a buck…it was the first on our land and very sentimental!! We brought it in to the meat processor and it’ll be some good eating~
That afternoon I hit the trail for a run, It was crazy warm for November 11th. It was also VERY WINDY, but nice where I ran as it’s sheltered from the wind.
After the run, I lifted chest a bit– then, Travis and I climbed up on the roof of our house and enjoyed the evening looking for deer~ Here’s my view:
Saturday’s thank you: Thank you God for my beautiful land!!
Yesterday was GLOOMY and rainy all day!! I was so thankful that it was NOT SNOW(Sunday’s thank you)!!
I got in a decent leg workout~ and this MOVE, No clue what exercise I’m doing?? LOL– It must have wore me out cuz I crashed while watching sunday night football.
Today is sunny again but started off really cold!! Gracie has an impacted tooth so we visited the otho who recommended surgery and braces for the little lady. It’s going to mean a lot of extra driving over then next 9 months! Today, my thank you is to my mini-van:
Dear Mini-Van, You are black and dirty, but I love you~ Thanks for getting our whole family (+1 at times) to where we need to go. I appreciate your storage space and smooth ride. Although, I hate your unstylish appearance and lack of EDGINESS~ and I’d trade you for a HUMMER in a heartbeat, You are what I got for now~ I do love you and I THANK YOU!!
Time for me to get rollin’ my workout can’t wait any longer!!

Good Morning Ladies!!
It’s been a weird day…I was convinced it was Thursday today until just now. Sorry if I sent you a message saying “have a terrific Thursday!”
Let me recap the past couple days:
Got in a great workout day~ back shoulder bicep at the gym
Tuesday- a day off of structured workouts, but I did play tennis with my niece. She’s a sweetheart! I had to miss my tennis lesson due to some time confilcts, so I opted to play with her instead. At least it was some tennis work– I think I’m getting a bit better still…I also watched some tennis drills/tips videos online. A couple ideas were helpful.
My THANK YOU from yesterday~ Thank you yoga for making this pose cool~ when I look at this photo, I see myself breathing in the earth, water and sunshine. God made this world wonderful and I am wonderfully made!! Have a thankful kind of day!! LOVE YOU♥
My version of YOGA~
Today-Wednesday– a day to hit it hard!! I’m planning on a run and an upper body lifting day– mostly chest and triceps, but I’ll throw in some shoulders and biceps too. Gracie has guitar tonight and the girls have Awana– so it’s my busy evening.
Another fun thing on tap for today is a phone call with BRENDA!! I love her!! We are going to chat about “fitness business” stuff and do some “dream building!!” ~ I love those kind of calls!!

I’d also LOVE to get in a leg workout and/run…I probabaly shouldn’t do all of it though because I’ll be DEAD if I do. It’s been fun recently to “feel” like working out . I had a long spell there where I didn’t and it’s hard to have to “make yourself” do it every time.
I am thankful for every amazing female hero of mine– they are the women who forge ahead to impact the world, leading by example and have a no excuses attitude. Why did you enter the “SuperSTAR Success” contest by BuffMother?
To get better with eating Whole Foods!…plus teach myself how to continuing eating healthy on the weekends! And of course the hopes of trimming my lower body!
What tactics did you use to stay focused and engaged for the entire 70 days?
BM RallyRoom and Team BM Facebook! Took midway photos, report journal & stats! Weekly POA. BM Chart Cycle!!
How do you feel about your success?
AWESOME!! Took my head, heart and body to a place I only dreamt about! I’ve beaten my “monthly weight rollercoaster cycle” that I’ve been on for YEARS!! I feel more in control of my life now…mainly due to Hormone Timing!
What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to attain your goals?
DEFINITELY WEEKEND BINGING!! Took the first month to really teach myself! The second month I changed my attitude to “it’s just another day to be healthy”. No More 4 days good, 3 days bad…it’s all about 7 days good!!
What would you like to tell the world about BuffMother?
It is so MUCH MORE than just looking good…it’s a way of life! Understanding your hormones is really the key! When you understand them, you don’t have to fight them, you just work with them! AND this is NOT a new fade diet; it is a lifestyle change where you learn to make better choices!
Where are you in your journey?
I am very interested in getting certified to be a PT. And definitely would love to compete in a fitness challenge someday SOON!
Did you reach your goals and aspirations?
Yes, I wanted to take my body to another level of fitness!
Where do you see this challenge brought you?
Definitely took me into a new chapter in life. Freed me of self doubt, and listening to others tell me I can’t do it. I feel so alive and ready to make positive changes in all areas of my life!
Do you have any lingering concerns?
Only that I may have moments where I listen to the negative comments about my changes. But I know this is an awesome thing for me and my family!
Do you feel you made an impact on your legacy during this contest?
Yes my kids love having a “strong & healthy Mom”. They know that protein keeps them full, and “snack” foods are not really food!!
Did you feel the support group helped you stay on track?
Absolutely Yes…in countless ways!

Bought myself some new jeans…because I was tired of pulling them up all day!! Woohoo!!
What other thoughts are in your head at the moment?
Energized!! Food use to control me…then control my moods. I am so empowered by making the right choices day to day!

Did you GET to know your body?
Definitely yes! My monthly cycle controlled my eating, moods, and choices more than I ever imaged the could… but they don’t know!
Did you learn about your good c-days, your bad c-days, your weight fluctuations, etc…Again Definitely yes! I use to think my “boosting days” were me being tired of being good, but it was just me being physically tired & hungrier. I love taking advantage of the buffing days, then sit back and maintain during boosting. I stopped fighting my cycle, I work with it now!
Did anything surprise you?
YES, I feel so much better staying away from dairy!!

One of my favorites would have to be when my “neigh sayer” friend turned positive and gave me her son’s old lifting set!! Then of course my “Aha Moment” when I truly realized I was a weekend binger…but not anymore!!

Oh Yea! Denyse, Kim, Brenda & Jen! Denyse, Kim and I even set up “weekend accountable” challenges. We had to report back to each other on how we did Friday through Sunday, highs & lows. It was very educational to my progress! I feel very blessed to have had them with me during this BM journey!

Hi!! I’m in a total time warp this week…Holidays do that!!
I’m so excited on many fronts~ We are getting geared up for our next contest…Hope you got the email and signed up, DETAILS are HERE. The sign up for the sock exchange ended yesterday: We had 68 ladies sign up to participate, It’s gonna be some crazy wild fun to see all of those sock pictures!!
I got in a workout today at the gym with my mma friend Lylna~ we worked our backs, shoulders and did squats– then to finish up she put me through some boxing drills~ it was fun!!
Tennis was canceled for this week…due to the holidays.
Today I want to say thank you to sports…Thank you SPORTS for teaching me tons of PHYSICAL Skills, but more so mental skills like : Determination, Hard work, Consistency, Team Work, Encouragement and the Ability to KEEP Pressing on knowing that PRACTICE makes PERFECT.
Well, time for some relaxation!!

I love the “thinking” I get done on the holidays~ it’s a fun time to rest, reflect and refocus! I’m very excited for our 28 days of Chistmas~ I “THINK” as a TEAM we can really have a great impact on a lot of people through our determined effort to fit fitness in even during the busy holiday season.
A life full of good eating and exercise needs to be thought of as a lifestyle. It’s sad that most adults treat it as an “extra” thing that gets cut out of their life when they get a little busy. I understand that there are seasons of life and times when fitness is not a “huge” focus, but there has to be a bit of balance. Equipping people with a way to get it done without a huge time comittment will hopefully help people be able to STOP their “All or NOTHING” mentality when it comes to fitness.
The plan I’ll be promoting for the contest is a 4 day a week workout plan~ with the #4 throughout it– 4 weeks, 4 workouts a week, 4 main exercises each workout, etc…
Thanksgiving was a good day for us as a family, despite one of my little daughters was sick with the tummy flu~ poor thing. I ended up cooking a bunch of food: turkey, stuffing, mashed sweet taters, green bean casserole, gravy, corn, cream pie, pumpkin pie, etc.. I ate 2 big meals of it plus pie! It was no surprise that I was up 4#’s on the scale this morning. I’m not worried about it; instead I’ll use it to fuel some outdoor activity and a leg workout a bit later.
I’m off to enjoy the sunshine!!

Am I a HERMIT?

I seriously am worried I’m turning into a HERMIT. I don’t want to leave my house! I know my hormones tend to make me feel this way monthly, but I am seriously feeling more and more like I don’t want to venture away from my “Sanctuary” of a ranch. We moved out to the country about a year ago and I’m totally diggin it! I’ve learned so much about myself this past year…I love doing so many things that I never knew existed prior to this past year.
I love driving a tractor
I love planting fields
I love brush hogging
I love building big fires
I love running hills on a dirt trail
I love hunting varmits
I love shooting guns (i got a hand gun and a shot gun!)
I love making mulch (our anniversary present was a small mulcher)
I love cutting down weeds and sumac!! it makes me feel powerful!
I love working out at home! (I never thought that’d be the case)
I enjoy the sunrise (Before this year, I barely ever got up to see one, lol)
…I could keep going but the point is that life is so amazing– a constant adventure and discovery!!
So far our 28days of Chistmas is a success!! tons of posting tons of fun #workoutproof pictures~ tons of great women who I’m so excited to get to know better!!

Please list the following measurements-
Bust (around breasts the biggest part): 36
Chest- relaxed (just under armpits above breasts with arms down at your sides): 33
Chest- flexed back and chest (just under armpits with arms down at your sides): 38.5
Waist- relaxed (the smallest part): 27.5
Waist-sucked in (the smallest part): 26
Hips (the largest part of your butt): 35.5
Shoulders (around the outside of your shoulders with your arms at sides): 41
Biceps (relaxed at midpoint of upper arm): 10
Biceps (flexed at midpoint of upper arm):11
Thigh-mid (about 8” above knee cap): 19.5
Thigh- upper (about 12” above knee cap): 20
Calf (about 7” below knee joint): 13
From my stats I can totally see the BLOAT I feel…I am holding a ton of water and puff in my upper body and TUMMY! ICKY~ i was feeling like the damage from Thanksgiving was going away on Mon but then my hormones kicked in. I have no doubt 133 is not my REAL weight. I’ll be back under 130 by next week. My goal for the contest is to get back down to 128 (where I was at at the end of last month when we finished the SSS contest).
