Belief in Purpose!

HI Ya!!

Just wanted to check in with ya’ll a bit.  I’ve been MIA and will be MIA for the next week or two due to this movie.

I just wanted to update you on a couple things.

My interview for strength advocate is up– here’s the direct link.

http://strengthadvocate.com/bu…lle-berger-interview

If you could PLEASE share it via your social media– Let’s get the word out there, Women need to BELIEVE in their dreams again!!

On that note– this is week in #5 in our contest and BELIEF is our theme–

Part of our homework for this week is to blog about our BELIEF~ “I Believe in….”

~I believe… in PURPOSE. WE ALL have a purpose for our lives…do you have a vision of what yours is? I know mine…it is to HELP WOMEN- as simple as that! I’d like to help every woman in the world have HOPE- I want to share the message that YOU have the power to change YOUR body, life and legacy.Does that sound do-able? LOL! I BELIEVE it is!!Now, I have not always had this VISION for my PURPOSE…it has taken time, effort and GOD’s timing to reveal it in my life. I’ve only had a CLEAR VISION for my purpose for the past 5-6 years. Until then I was searching and honestly more than a little frustrated…I had an uneasy feeling, I knew I was supposed to do something, but WHAT??I really believe that God put me through every part of my life for a reason…even the bad parts. I now see how things that seemed bad at the moment, have turned to work for my favor NOW. I’ve also gained a ton of WISDOM through my struggles and my triumphs. Without the past 38 years of my life I wouldn’t be me and I wouldn’t be ready to attack my PURPOSE.A couple books that helped me in finding my purpose are: the BIBLE, “Reduce me to LOVE” by Joyce Meyer and “The Prayer of Jabez” by Bruce Wilkinson Keep on Believing and keep striving towards your PURPOSE…YOU HAVE ONE!!

As for the movie, so far I’ve shot 2 scenes…it’s slow going in that I have a ton more to shoot.  On Sunday there was a snafu due to the bar we had planned on shooting at being CLOSED and the owner being MIA.  It worked out good though because it was DH’s birthday, and we got to spend the day together!!

My workouts have been decent, but could be better– it’s hard to fit them in when you have to be “movie ready” all day long LOL!

I ran on Saturday outside hills for the first time since our last bout with snow– so it was about 3 weeks.  It’s much harder on my feet, to run on the tail than on the treadmill….

I got in a very solid leg workout on Sunday:

One treadmill and dancing deadlifts. Knee ups leg curls lunges more dancing for abs  leg ups leg extensions pump ups More standing abs One set single leg deadlifts Squats

Doing squats last was tough!!

and in about 15 mins I’m going to get on the treadmill for a run.

Then shower, fill my orders and head off to the movie set once again.

I was there 12 hours yesterday.  During some of my waiting time I was able to enjoy the sun on the patio at Bear’s Place in Fayetteville:

I’ve not been the best about taking my food pics– I’ll try to remember that this week.  I have been uploading them to this facebook album called “what I eat”

https://www.facebook.com/media…504405054&type=1

As for the diary challenge– I think I need to lay off the diary for sure! I’m determined to keep cheese out of my eats and figure out a different creamer for my coffee!

Okay, gotta roll so I can get to the set at a decent time. My call time is 10 am– but truthfully, I’m planning to roll in at noon today instead.  I’ve got stuff to do this morning!

I’m bringing my computer to the set today– so if I can get on wi-fi I’ll log in and catch up with Ya’ll when I have some free time

Skin Deep!

FIRST OFF!! Happy Valentines!!

One of the most influential books I read about 11 years ago was “Reduce Me to LOVE” by Joyce Meyer. The way she made walking in LOVE real to me changed my outlook forever and was a foundation for why I started TEAM BUFFMOTHER!
I love you!! ♥ Happy Valentines my friends, may today and EVERYDAY be filled with true unconditional LOVE~ True love comes from our Heavenly Father.
I pray that I can be a shining example of HIS love to you~ God BLESS!!

This week’s Favorites have been all about BEAUTY!

We’ve had some great topics and super input– I’ll summarize yesterday’s topic  here for future reference 🙂

Winter has a tendency create a dry, white, chapped body 🙁 …How do you combat it? What are your FAVORITE lotions, tanners, lip treatments and hand cremes?

  • i get spray tanned w. a pre tan conditioner. i luv sephoras can spray for touch up
  • Fake Bake tanner is my fav!! I’m wearing it in my profile pic and I find it on Amazon.
  • I use whipped coconut oil- smells so good and and is easier to use this way! I just put it in my mixer for 5-6 minutes and it stays pliable for months.

  • Coconut oil. I’m going to make my own Coconut oil body whip. this recipe. Maybe the vitamin E in the coconut oil will help http://blog.radiantlifecatalog.com/bid/57164/Homemade-Whipped-Extra-Virgin-Coconut-Oil-Lotion

    • Homemade Whipped Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil Lotion
      Enjoy one of our favorite healthy skin tips with an easy recipe for homemade Whipped Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Lotion.
  • I LOVE LaPrairie creams!!!!! THE BEST 4 THE BEST!! xoxo
  • milk bathes , St. Ives with Collegen. good old school chap stick.
  • Gene’s Vit E Creme for winter, after-tanning, and pregnancy (3 jumbo babies and NO stretchmarks!). Coconut oil, castor or primrose oil. St Ive’s Apricot exfoliating scrub. Lansinoh Lanolin for severely chapped lips (perfect for kids with clown-face from licking their lips…plus, that tube for nursing moms last FOREVER you’ve got to use it somehow
  • Loreal Self Tanner , Coenzyme 10 firming lotion along with Vit E Baby Oil Gel – I wear Burts Bee lip gloss
  • Aveeno Positively Ageless firming body lotion…all year long, I love it! Also, I don’t use tanners but when I want a little sparkly “glow” I use Jergens Soft Shimmer Skin Radiance Moisturizer…its the best stuff!! Hand cream…True Blue Spa paraffin lotion from Bath and Body Works…Blistex Deep Renewal lip moisturizer at night or when needed. Lip gloss…my absolute fave…Cover Girl Wetslicks…not sticky, gorgeous colors…I have most of them! Plus, they are not thick or “lip glossy” like so many others…
  • I found the winter makes the inside air incredibly dry as well, even with the humidifier on the furnace. I purchased a small inexpensive hygrometer (measures humidity -about $30) and a cheap vaporizer (about $20) for my bedroom and one other very dry room. It makes a a world of difference as far as improving sleep and sinus issues as well as helping to keep your skin from drying out and chapping.

Lots of great feedback and I will totally try out the WHIPPED coconut oil.  I’m tired of scraping it out of the container with my fingernails and then trying to melt it on my body, lol!!

I’ve recently quit using tanner except on a rare occasion. I found that it was making me feel sick and possibly leading to bladder infections 🙁

I’d love to find a natural alternative because I LOVE BEING TAN!

As for lotions I like Jergens Skin firming, but have also tried to go more “natural” in that area. Recently I’ve been buying almond oil, avacado oil, jaba oil, coconut oil and trying out those options. The problem I have with them is they are so OILY I get it in my hair and that’s not good!  I hate having oily hair– so I only use them at night.  For my lips I like some of the more expensive lip balms like Nutrogena’s. I have chapped lips all the time!!

Another funny thing is during “boosting” my feet get really dry and hot feeling at bedtime– I have to put extra lotion on them before bed, lol!

Yesterday I got in a decent upper body lifting workout– Chest and back combined.  I am SORE today!!  I didn’t do too great on my diet– not enough protein.  It was cycle day 23 and my mood was actually GREAT! My weight was up 2 pounds from the day before so I was 129.  Today It went down a pound to 128.  I’ll go for a run today and do some more upper body lifting– I’ll try to hit areas that arn’t sore and work my abs a little extra.

It’s going to be 56 here today!! I LOVE IT!! and LOVE YOU

-Michelle

Heroes

HI all~ Well….I’ve had a busy but GREAT past few days!! Yesterday I took of of workouts– not on purpose, but that’s what happened.  Today I have tennis drills and I’m so excited!! It was a blast last week 🙂 I’d also LOVE to get in a leg workout and/run…I probabaly shouldn’t do all of it though because I’ll be DEAD if I do.  It’s been fun recently to “feel” like working out .  I had a long spell there where I didn’t and it’s hard to have to “make yourself” do it every time.
Today’s THANK YOU! ~ I am thankful for every amazing female hero of mine– they are the women who forge ahead to impact the world, leading by example and have a no excuses attitude. I have many such heros, but today I want to say THANK YOU to 3 specific ladies: Joyce Meyer (www.joycemeyer.org), Laurie Beth Jones (www.lauriebethjones.com) and Heidi Baker (http://irismin.org/). May God continue to

use you in the lives of women, like He’s used you to impact my life!! I have learned so much through your tenacity, example of hard work and through your evident FAITH. Thanks for spreading your LOVE and Light!! Thank YOU!! “I never understood why people want to do big things… Just do little things, with great Love.” — Mama Heidi Baker

Keep being thankful and pressing into the positives in life!!

Love,

Michelle

What happened to WED?

www.buffmother.com
I am sorry…I totally missed blogging yesterday?  What happened to me yesterday???–welll WHAM! HORMONES!!!  it was c-day 18 and my hormones have started messing with my brain/body,  I guess I am making it sound worse than it was because I actually had a pretty good day!!!
It started off with cleaning out my Daughter’s closet (thanks for the inspiration on that Lisa)…then I got ready for my massage!!!  I hadn’t had one for well over 2 months~ and it felt so great, but my booty was sore from Tuesday’s leg wo which made it a little bit painful.

Anyhow~ I was very happy to have my booty sore, but MAN!! IT is SOOOOOOOO sore!  I added in BB lunges, a few good mornings, a slightly different DL variation, abductions and lower back extensions to my workout and it is KILLING ME!  By 6pm last night I couldn’t even sit on my butt it was so sore– OUCHIE!!!

I did manage to go for a little run around the block with the kids and do the beginner buffing upper body workout from my book last night~ oh and some wii fit– I was only 29 last night 🙂  LOVED IT!!

I am considering making today a relaxed workout day–I am so sore still that cardio sounds very painful and so does lifting~ we’ll see– OH and I had planned on taking pics today-I am regretting that I didn’t take them on TUES, I felt my leanest that day, so-I may wait until tomorrow for those too, I’ll have to see how I feel in a little bit….silly hormones they are making me very silly today.

Okay!  I am going to clean out another toy box right now while I listen to Joyce Meyer on my Iphone.
I’ll be back later!
Love,
Michelle

The best laid plans to up in SMOKE!

www.BuffMother.com

WOW~~~!!!!! isn’t it fun to have excitement to get buff for the spring?!!
I sure am feeling the vibe!!
I am “Boosting” at the moment and I thought I’d share a few items on how I approach my boosting these days:
1- PREPARE-
I prep myself for my “bad days” (19-22) during my last few days of buffing. I will go ahead and write to do lists ahead of time, prepare my workout plan, get supplements organized, get food shopping done, make appointments and be sure to shave, lol!  All of that prep helps me get through the crazy distracted days that I often encounter on c-days 19-22.
2- REST-
I spend more time reading, watching movies, just sitting, relaxing, snuggling, hibernating, and laying down in general during boosting. I try to take my time, so I don’t find myself in a tizzy. Or being a “spaz”…I just focus on being more mellow and rest driven.
3- BUILD-
I focus on building up my body and mind, allowing myself to repair and build towards the future. I like to build knowledge during this time…read and research. I like to build my PMA…I do exercises like Focus on Solutions, to keep my focus where it needs to be. I love reading books that build up my faith, my attitude or my business! I focus my workouts on BUILDING Muscle and my diet on BUILDING up nutrients that will positively affect my body forever!!
~~~
Tomorrow for example is going to be a GREAT day!
I have my supplements for the day ready to take (in my handy HT dispenser)
I have a POA placed in my outlook
I have food prepped and ready to eat in the frig
I have a book to read- The making of a leader by Joyce Meyer
I have my twins home tomorrow to snuggle with during an afternoon nap
I have a great workout planned along with a relaxing time in the tanning bed
Boosting can be an amazing time of the month~ God made women special for a reason~ embrace your woman-ness!!
xoxoxo~
UPDATE~~ The best laid plans go up in SMOKE!
I was so organized about today…but did it matter – NOPE – because pretty much all my plans went up in smoke!  BUT NOT TO WORRY~ the super adjuster known as Miss “Fly by the SEAT of her PANTS” BERGER….was able to remain calm and still get’er done!!
Why? did I have to adjust?
1- One of my girls was sick…poor girl, yet again for the 5th day in a row was just not right…so I made a call to the pediatrician’s office and spent hours due to that whole process
2- Gramma was flying into town today and I was the one who opted for the “job” to pick her up from the airport another HOUR I didn’t plan. BUT it was great to see her and have here here!!
3- PIANO Lessons~ I forgot about these until today….is it really Thursday again already? So another hour GONE!
As I said despite it all, I got in a good workout and a GREAT day of  eating!!  I am ON FIRE and roaring ready to get my BBB!!
My workout was as follows- intervals on the treddy~ it was hard and good…and I forced myself to stay on the machine until it read 3.1 miles~
AND I am going to head out to do SQUATS in my garage after I get the kids to bed and do a 5 min warm up on the bike.
I am going to shoot for a longer streak of doing 3 sets of squats daily…a couple of months ago I made it 14 days straight and my booty was showing the positive effects~ YEEHAAWW!
Gotta SQUAT now~
HUGS,
Michelle
LOVE Language
www.BuffMother.com
 Yesterday I was watching Joyce Meyer’s TV show and she had Gary Chapman on speaking about the 5 love languages~ I never get tired of hearing about them!!  Amazing that something so simple can affect those who are unaware so much.  As I listened to the interview, I was trying to figure out what my love language was, what my DH’s is, what my children’s are and this is what I decided for now:
Me~Acts of Service (primary), and Physical Touch (secondary) (BUT I am not sure…I change all the time)
Travis~ Quality Time and Words of Encouragement (tied with Physical touch)
Gunner~ Quality Time for sure!
Gracie~ Gifts
Tia~ Physical Touch
Layla~ anything :)…she loves it all and responds to it all!
Here is a bit more about the 5 Love Languages :
The Five Love Languages (excepts taken from www.fivelovelanguages.com)
Words of Affirmation
Mark Twain once said “I can live for two months on a good compliment.”  Verbal appreciation speaks powerfully to persons whose primary Love Language is “Words of Affirmation.”  Simple statements, such as, “You look great in that suit,” or “You must be the best baker in the world! I love your oatmeal cookies,” are sometimes all a person needs to hear to feel loved.
Aside from verbal compliments, another way to communicate through “Words of Affirmation” is to offer encouragement.  Here are some examples: reinforcing a difficult decision; calling attention to progress made on a current project; acknowledging a person’s unique perspective on an important topic. If a loved one listens for “Words of Affirmation,” offering encouragement will help him or her to overcome insecurities and develop greater confidence.
Quality Time
-Quality time is more than mere proximity. It’s about focusing all your energy on your mate.
-Quality conversation is very important in a healthy relationship. An important aspect of quality conversation is self-revelation.
-Quality activities are a very important part of quality time.
Whether it’s sitting on the couch and having a brief conversation or playing together in a tennis league, quality time is a love language that is shared by many. Setting aside focused time with your mate will ensure a happy marriage.
Receiving Gifts
Some mates respond well to visual symbols of love. If you speak this love language, you are more likely to treasure any gift as an expression of love and devotion. People who speak this love language often feel that a lack of gifts represents a lack of love from their mate. Luckily, this love language is one of the easiest to learn.
These gifts need not to come every day, or even every week. They don’t even need to cost a lot of money. Free, frequent, expensive, or rare, if your mate relates to the language of receiving gifts, any visible sign of your love will leave them feeling happy and secure in your relationship.
Acts of Service
Sometimes simple chores around the house can be an undeniable expression of love. Even simple things like laundry and taking out the trash require some form of planning, time, effort, and energy. Just as Jesus demonstrated when he washed the feet of his disciples, doing humble chores can be a very powerful expression of love and devotion to your mate.
It is important to do these acts of service out of love and not obligation. A mate who does chores and helps out around the house out of guilt or fear will inevitably not be speaking a language of love, but a language of resentment. It’s important to perform these acts out of the kindness of your heart.
Physical Touch
Many mates feel the most loved when they receive physical contact from their partner. For a mate who speaks this love language loudly, physical touch can make or break the relationship.
Sexual intercourse makes many mates feel secure and loved in a marriage. However, it is only one dialect of physical touch. Many parts of the body are extremely sensitive to stimulation. It is important to discover how your partner not only physically responds but also psychologically responds to these touches.
It is important to learn how your mate speaks the physical touch language. Some touches are irritating and uncomfortable for your mate. Take the time to learn the touches your mate likes. They can be big acts, such as back massages or lovemaking, or little acts such as touches on the cheek or a hand on the shoulder. It’s important to learn how your mate responds to touch. That is how you will make the most of this love language.
For more info on the Love Languages I recommend Gary Chapman’s book-.
Reduce Me to Love!
www.BuffMother.com
“Because God IS Love. Loving and being loved is what makes life worth living. Once you learn how to truly accept God’s unconditional love for you and walk in love like Jesus did, you will discover the sweet peace, deep joy and unfailing strength that come with being willing to say, ‘Lord, Reduce Me to LOVE!’ ” from the back cover of Reduce Me To Love by Joyce Meyer
I love this book…Joyce Meyer really boils down love in it and Every time I read from her book I am inspired to LOVE others more and more. Life is really all about LOVE!!
I had a sick child at home again today, poor little Gracie can’t seem to shake this tummy bug. She has been sick on an off for the past 2-3 weeks with it :cry:
But I also had my 2 helpers BIL and MIL~ so I was still able to get quite a bit done. I went to Wal-Mart and to Sam’s and to Gunner’s 2nd Grade Muscial and even took a nap. But I didn’t workout as I am a tish ill feeling myself~ so I don’t wanna wear myself down too much :)
I am heading to bed and I think I’ll pray myself to sleep asking God to “reduce me to LOVE!!”
That’s SWEET~
Deads Galore!
Where is the peace???
Let’s see….I found my peace today while working out to a Joyce Meyer message. It was about being passionate about your life and purpose. GOOD stuff!! It really fired me UP!!!
I did a couple small leg workouts today.
The first was early in the day~
I used some 15#DB’s that were laying on my bedroom floor and just started cranking out the lifts….I did a bunch of Squats, Deads, side lunges…then I went out to my garage and did more DEADS with the O-bar that had 95# on it. In total I worked out for about 9 mins on my legs and then I did some ball crunches.
Then this evening I did some more:
a ton more deads in my garage
a bunch of step ups
quite a few leg extension on bowflex and
also leg curls.
that session lasted about 20 mins or so….
I will be sore! all those new variations of exercises and the amount of deads I did will do the trick.
-M
p.s. I say where is the peace cuz 3/4 of my kids are sick with the tummy flu~ EWWW!
