Hot Yoga & Other Musings of my Mind

Well…Hot yoga was good- not as hot as I expected, the moves were rather painless but the results were a great overall feeling of calm and relaxation in my body and muscles. I would do it again- it’s the perfect “active rest” day activity. I’m happy I tried it- It was also fun to see my friend and visit another gym.  I really wish wish my gym offered the class 🙂

The past 2 days I’ve been dealing with some odd hormonal side effects.  I had night sweats really bad, had muscle cramps yesterday and was very light headed this morning.  Today is cycle day 22…my weight is 130.

I’ve been eating really good today-
proteins: eggs, taco meat, protein powder
fruits: apple
Veggies: carrot, broccoli slaw
others- coffee, cream, sugar, creatine punch, Ester-C

My Sweet Dear Daughters have been talking with me about doing the talent show this spring at school.  They get “groups” together to do dances to songs etc…My hubby sweetly suggested that I help them choreograph a dance.   I jokingly said my dancing would probably be inappropriate for the elementary school stage

I found a video that made me think of my little performer Layla dancing:

It’s very unique and just her style- she does robotic moves quite naturally, she is skinny like this lady, plus it’s funny that her brother’s nick name is Guns. “Son of a Gun”.

In other news:

my sister is coming to visit in less than 10 days.  It’s been several years since she’s been able to come here for a visit!  It’ll be a fun time!  I’d like to get my taxes done before she comes and I’d LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to get some “handyman” jobs completed prior to her visit.  I’ll add that to my to do list 🙂

my kid’s spring break got cut down due to snow days- which makes me rather happy, hehe.  I think I’ll enjoy the shorter break much more than a longer one….maybe we can GO somewhere for a couple days- I’ll have to see how the hubby’s schedule shakes out.

I have a new Tuesday workout partner.  She’s a girl on my football team and we’re going to switch off going to each other’s gyms every other Tuesday.  It should be fun- her and I are 2 of the smaller girls on the team- so we both need to focus on maintaining/gaining our strength and weight.

I have some business ideas bouncing around in my head and need to figure out what and how I should attack.  I have been at a indecisive “stand still” for a couple months… it’s almost time for my strategic attack.  My time management focus this month has already helped me realize it’s important to attack projects that have the most IMPACT vs. just being busy.  I am a business owner and should be focused on the BIG VISION, not the little day to day tasks.  Day to day tasks need to get done, but they can be done by others.  Delegation is key to time management.

Kids are home now and we have to go get some groceries, do homework, cook, eat, clean, read, etc…

Have a great evening!!

They Hit!

Well…I’ve been pleasantly pleased with my hormones this month. But today they HIT ME! Not in a terrible way, but with the lazy bug. I’ve been SLOW and more spaced out than usual today. I also have peace knowing that it cday 27 today…so at the most I have one more high hormone day left this cycle!!!

In my spaced out state I did get some stuff done- I put together a video for my Mom and uploaded it to you tube and facebook….It was really a fun gift to surprise her with today!!

After that, I had a really good devotion time today, studying about God’s love and how we need to realize He LOVES us so much and that He see’s our potential, our motives, our heart, and our sincere desire to please him- so that when we do fail he still knows we love him and HE still loves us!! Isn’t that cool!! We can run to him even when we have not been perfect!! HE loves us and He wants our love even if we aren’t perfect.

I also had a great coaching call with Michelle Stevens…It’s so fun to talk with her and see how much effort she’s putting in to make us of the information contained within the video coaching program and beyond!! It makes my job very enjoyable.

Then I got to talk with Teresa Williams about all kinds of fun fitnesss/diet stuff and about our Team BuffMother Gathering. Ladies, I tell you what if you can make it to Northern Cali the weekend of November 12th and 13th you will have a blast for sure!! We have so many fun things planned!! You won’t wanna miss it!!!

Then I found out my Mom’s school was canceled for the day(she’s a math teacher in Pelican Rapids, MN). Can you believe they are already having SNOW DAYS in MN??? So I gave her a call too!! She seemed like she was enjoying the day off and really liked the special video 🙂

After that I talked to my hubby dearest on the phone, He’s been outta town for business now since Sunday morning…. I MISS HIM But the good news is he’ll be home tomorrow, just in time for Gunner’s first playoff game– GO RAVENS!!

NO workout today but I did workout the past 3 days so I felt totally fine taking a day off today.

Last night I went to the gym for a leg workout while Gunner was at football:

Hack squats for warm up- Machinex25 reps x2 sets
90×20 x2

175×2- I stopped at 2 because I had no spotter and the rack is not one that spots you at all…plus I had a slight twing in my back on the 2 that I did- Better safe than sorry!
135×10- did these immediatly after the 2 reps at 175

Leg extensions
4-5 sets between squat sets
Abs- incline abs-25full+10 hands on hammies
Lower back extensions- 1 set of 25

Bulgarians- been awhile for these

Leg curls- bent over machine variety

my butt is nice and sore from the workout!! YAY!!

Off to see if I can finish putting together this dresser- I’ve invested at least 3.5 hours so far total…time to finish it!!!

That reminds me, I think we should do an end of the year challenge called “FINISH IT”!!! Let’s Finish no only October with a bang, but the remainder of the year!!! Are you with me?!

Ahh, the Peace!

I love PEACE!  It’s been crazy around our house the past 4 days due to the snow and snow days.  Thankfully the kids are back in school today~ Awww….the PEACE!!

Cycle day 3 was yesterday and I’ve come to realize that it’s typically a “tired” almost “sick” feeling day for me.  I think the hormone levels coupled with blood loss can make me feel pretty ICK!  Anyhow…today is better, my MOJO is rising and I have a bit of focus again!  I did get a workout done yesterday at the gym…it was a good escape!

Here’s the workout:

Warm up elliptical- I actually did intervals for 9 mins
25push ups
20 push ups
9x10x4 or 5 more sets
15 push ups

Incline flys
paired with
tricep push downs

Posedown bicep curls
paired with
2sets cable flys and stretching

Cardio- boxing drills in aerobics room, approx 20 mins

I am still struggling with my butt, but I’ve decided with the prodding of my DH, to try and just “leave it alone” for a week or so…meaning- NO STRETCHING, RUBBING, POKING, TESTING etc… I have a tendency to constantly fiddle with my injuries- which may lead to them not being allowed to “rest” and heal.  So that’s my new idea for the week on it :hehe:

Today’s focus is Balance, so my plan is to do several balance type exercises during my leg workout.  My MMA class got canceled for today, so I’ll be doing a small leg workout and running at the gym instead.  I plan to go this afternoon.

I also plan on catching us up with our Just Do it posts:

Day 15 Diet

Day 16 Balance

Keep workin’ it and stay focused!!

p.s.  today’s workout:

warm up 8 mins r bike

run intevals- most off mins at 7mph on mins @8 or 9 at about 8 mins into it
i did an entire 1/2 mile at 9mph= 3:20

25mins of running total- total distance 3.1miles

Lower back extensions 2 sets
Abs on extension machine 2 sets
Leg extensions 4 sets with stretching to the side (hip/obliques) and standing quad stretch
Leg curls- these were crazy weak on my left leg (did single legs on these) really light 4 sets
Single leg press 3 sets- these felt good…I’ll have to do more of these while my butt is being stupid
one set walking lunges no weight and some walking calves
