Diet HARD!! "S6" ~Day 10

The plan is to DIET HARD!

HI Girls!!…well I made it through another boosting phase!!! Today was the last day~ WHEW!!! I am so excited to be buffing again!!!
The Plan is to DIET HARD!! I haven’t been this serious about cutting down/leaning up in a long time! I’ve been at a comfortable nice weight for the past year or two and haven’t had an BIG reason to diet. I actually wouldn’t “have to” right now…but I want to feel super confident and thin for my birthday!!

So here is my POA for this first week of buffing:
**DIET** Each day get in my protein and greens– LOWer carbs!! follow 5-3-3-3 portions and tons of water!**

W-football practice
Th-LEGS!! hard and abs too
F- Back, Sh, Bi, run
Sa-football game in Kansas City
Su-hike with the family

HERE’s a quick Q & A on DIET-

Question #1. How do you deal with cravings for junk foods, sweets and salty food? I can stay on a diet for maybe a few weeks but I eventually get really bad cravings and binge on snacks and fast foods.

Michelle’s Answer: My answer is to not be quite so strict.  I allow myself a daily treat to head off future binges.

Question #2. I’m trying to create a healthy shopping list to stick with. What are some of the main foods I should include to maintain a lean and muscular physique?

Michelle’s Answer: Protein and Greens: Eggs, chicken, turkey, hamburger, tuna, salmon, whey protein, beef jerky, romaine lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, celery, broccoli, asparagus, green beans

Question #3. I’m about 35 pounds over weight. I have never started an exercise program and really don’t know where to start. What tips can you give me to get started on the right track?

Michelle’s Answer: Just start out shooting to build the habit of activity and exercise.  Shoot for doing “something” 3 days a week.  Once you have that a solid habit, increase your frequency and intensity.  Always remember that Challenge=Change.

Question #4. I tend to eat out most of the time and really don’t know what healthy foods to order from the menu. What tips do you recommend for eating out at restaurants to make sure my diet will not suffer?

Michelle’s Answer: Choose meat first…stay away from tons of rice, pasta, sauces etc.  and always have a good green salad first…Also say no to BREAD.

Let’s plan on having a productive finish to the week~ I am totally going to be focused on my workouts and diet!! it will be FUN!!!

PMA all the way!!!

  1. Diet for me is a constant work in progress…it seems it can always improve 🙂

  2. good thing planning works for you…for me I rebel if I have a set meal plan. It works better for me to follow guidelines and have limits vs. set foods.

  3. I let my kids have some “crap”…it’s about being sure they get in the good stuff too…especially protein. so many kids do not get enough protein.

  4. Push Through it!! glad you are feeling better~ you’ll be back to 100% in no time!!

  5. diet, diet diet..I am a raw food foodest, as are often called. Trying to do more research to determine what combo is needed to lean out.

  6. Thanks for the focus on diet! It is my biggest challenge, I love to eat! Even worse I love to eat carbs, but they defiantly do not love me. I’m doing my best to make better choices and find alternate solutions. The hardest thing is finding food that works for both me & my husband (who can eat anything and not gain a pound!). I have to go grocery shopping today, so today’s focus is right on time!

  7. I am just finishing my buffing this Saturday so I am DETERMINED to finish this week strong!!! My BIG reason is carribean cruise June 18. Like you I want to feel thin and confident and focus on all the fun and sun!!!
Thank you for keeping me pumped and motivated!!

  8. I’m still a little sick but I am getting a lot better. My Truth Hammer today is “PUSH THROUGH!!!” so I got up and did some semi-low intensity Intervals and I honestly feel GREAT!!! I didn’t want to push myself too hard but I didn’t want to just lie on the couch because I’ve been sick so I got up and “PUSHed THROUGH” and I am very happy I did! Today is cycle day 22 for me so I’m still Boosting.

  9. Heading to the gym when the kids are in school. Diet is hardest part for me! How can I encourage the kids to go totally crap food free? I have a candy/cookie bag in the house so that the kids can choose one a day (I used to not have anything like this – then realized the kids went on a sugar frenzy at parties etc) – so looking for help on getting the balance right!

  10. Diet -clean eating has always been my biggest struggle. It is daily planning for me. I do better if I write out meal plan the night before. Thanks for the motivation!

  11. Trying to eat clean….peanut butter (with a spoon) is my downfall! Funny thing is, it runs in the family. I catch my son eating peanut butter out of the container all the time!

  12. Feeling it today after my leg workout yesterday. Love being sore. Thanks for all the motivation. I’ve been doing pretty good on my diet. I’ve been eating vegetarian for about 5 weeks now, so I’m getting my protein from eggs and whey protein. Also, if you combine a good grain with certain beans it can equal out to a protein. Plus, I’m eating a lot of greens. Feeling great.

  13. I can’t help but wonder what was in your mind during this photo, you look like you’re having a really fun time.
PMA all the way! Thanks for it all!!! XOXO

  14. Girl, I am with you! I was so sick Monday and tuesday…barely out of bed ( you know besides taking care of my 2 boys 🙂 Antibiotics kicking in and I am ready to attack! I feel behind!! Hope you feel better!

  15. Ran today because I won’t be able to get much in tomorrow. Diet is ok, difficult with the kiddo, but your protein comment makes me realize I need to focus on that too then we are both making healthy choices!

  16. Hi Michelle whichnis the best protein powder to get and how often should you take it? I’m training 3/4 times a week – buffing phase, thanks D

  17. I like “natural” ones- they don’t contain artificial items and seem to digest easier. Optimum Nutrition has several ones I like.

  18. Here here! I am dedicated from this minute on thanks for the reminder and encouragement. I only have 16 days until my birthday and want to loose about 5 lbs especially around the tummy! Can i do it? i am going to give it my best shot!!!!) 🙂

  19. I like so man others am beginning all this after having been sedetary a bit too long. My thing is I don’t eat bad stuff persay, I love veggies and such yes I do need to cut the pastas and such but I think my biggest thing is not eating regualar times or the right combination of foods to get most from each. I tried the whey protein even with LOTS of water it twisted me in painful cramping knots is there another kind to try? Someone told me maybe I have issues with the whey type.
