Not just BUFF… Beautiful too!! ~Shine in 49: Day 38

I’ve got 15 days to go until my birthday~ whoohoo!!! cheerleaders Why is it that I get so fired up to be fit for my birthday EVERY YEAR???   It’s so motivating for me!! I just love feeling my best on “MY DAY”!!

This year Travis is actually going to be home on my Birthday!! He’s missed more than half of my birthdays in the past 10 years due to travel.  Anyhow~ the whole family will be here for my day and trust me we will have a PARTY! And the whole week AFTER my b-day is going to be a VACATION for me- I will be totally UNPLUGGED and KIDLESS!! They are going to MN with Grandma 🙂

Yesterday was a great “RESET” day for me with workouts– but not so much for my diet.  I had more dairy than normal, more junk than normal and ended up going to bed with a tummy ache.  The goal today is to get DIET on track and I’ll be good to go for the next 15 days until my 37th B-day!!  The goal is to not only be buff for my birthday, but BEAUTIFUL also.

I’ve been doing my best to add some extra effort on that department- I got another facial yesterday to help my face be glowing and radiant. I also bought some “manicure” supplies, a new “miracle” face cream and have an appt with my dermatologist for Friday.  I’ve also got plans to get a manicure, pedicure, hair highlight/trim and I will also be TANNED for my day!!  It takes effort to be beautiful 🙂

Today- my girls are determined to go buy some summer clothes- and my son is determined to go spend the night with his lifelong buddy.  He’s had this friend since he was 2!

I’m just loving the final push of our Shine in 49–we have just 11 days left!!  Thanks so much for all the effort, posts, encouragement and thoughts about the contest!! You ladies are “SHINING STARS”~ I love you!!

"Thin in 30"- Day 3

“Thin in 30”- Day 3

Whoohoo!! we’ve made it to Day 3!!! WooHoo!

You are doing great!! I realize that you may be a little tired but take comfort  that day 5 is a rest day!!  So let’s keep pushing until then!! You CAN DO IT!!

 

Today’s workout is a circuit style lifting workout.  What that means is to do a set the first exercise, then the next, then the next, etc…until the entire list of exercises is complete- then REPEAT the entire series for the allotted sets.

For this specific workout we are focusing on “auxiliary” lifts- different exercises than we did on day 1 that will “hit” our muscles a little differently.  The mover are mostly for smaller muscle groups than BASIC moves, thus termed Auxillary.

 

Workout:

 

Workout  Day #3
“Auxiliary day”
CIRCUIT very little rest between sets= 15-30 seconds
Exercises: Upper:
1. Push ups
3×15
2. Tricep extensions
3×10
3. Bicep curls
3×10
4. Shoulder press
3×10
Lower:
5. Leg curls
3×10
6. Leg extensions
3×10
ABS:
7. Old school sit ups
8. Cats/dogs

Substitutions:

Push ups- On knee push ups, wall push ups, perfect push ups, chest press machine, DB press on ball, etc….

Tricep extensions- chair dips, tricep push downs, tricep kick backs, french press, tricep machine, overhead db extensions, etc…

Shoulder press- DB overhead press, military/shoulder press machine, Arnolds, etc…

Leg Curls- dead lifts all varieties, ball leg curls, froggy squats

Leg Extensions- lunges -stationary, walking, smith, etc…, Close stance squats, front squats, leg press, etc….

 

Today’s Diet Focus:

NO Carbonation!

Carbonation throws our entire body’s pH balance off- eliminating it will help you eliminate toxins from your system and allow your body to function in a less stressed state.  Less stress=more results!

HEY!! It’s Day 13 of our contest!!!  Your workout today is 20-40 mins of steady cardio~ Just get moving!!

I’ve been Keeping busy…having fun, lol!
Yesterday was DATE day with Travis and we had a GOOOOOOD time!
We went for lunch and then tried to go bowling, but due to road construction we could NOT get to FAST LANES the bowling alley.

ANYHOW…we decided it wasn’t meant to be and got movies instead.
We watched:
BILL (I’d give it a C+)
MARLEY and ME (I’d give it a B)
I AM LEGEND (I’d give it a B+)

and tonight we are going to watch AUSTRALIA

I ran hard and long yesterday…I feel like I am getting in much better cardio shape, but I need to do more!

Today for my workout I did legs, but a wimpy workout once again~ my back was being a bit bothersome. I think I’ll have to add some extra cardio in tomorrow to make up for the LAX workout I had today.

OUR Weekly ?- “BAD HAIR DAYs??”

I have been struggling as of late with my hair products. I can’t seem to find hair products that fits all my hair’s NEEDS all the time– I have tons of stuff I use and from day to day, season to season those change…
I have had good success with Pantene product, Big Sexy Hair and Pureology.
I also REALLY like in emergency situations to use a dry shampoo.

What is your favorite hair products?

What type of styling products do you use?

May is here!!!

MAY is HERE!!! whoohoo!!! Bring IT ON!!

Today was football practice. It went really well despite us practicing in the rain and 45 degree temps.  I was at H-back (tail back, 3 back), Free Saftey and outside linebacker today.  Our first game is MAY 7th!!!  it’s in Bentonville at the HighSchool Track/Soccer Stadium @4pm- Be there is you live anywhere close!!!

I am super exctited for our contest to start tomorrow!!  It’s 6 weeks in length- 42 days~ I am also starting a 40 day prayer/fasting focus with my church.  I may not end up fasting at all…but I will be praying and following a devotional along with the congregation.  I can’t wait!!!

Another thing I’m going to do a EVERY DAY IN MAY personal challenge (I’ve successfully done it in the past)- I will do at least 11 mins of some sort of EXERCISE daily in MAY!!

Gotta go for now…I need to spend some time with my man!!

Wild Wintertime!

Winter’s WILD~~!! Last nignt we watched the UFC event, which is always WILD! Then the wild weather of Blizzards, Cold, Wind, SNOW caused the Metradome Roof Colapse- so NO watching VIKES today!

Workout for today:

Bike 20 mins with some intervals thrown in
ABS and core and hip moves
2 sets Push ups- perfect ones

Not much else to report except This week’s gonna be WILD!! I’m gonna go WILD in my WORKOUTS!

Monday was a success!! I had energy and I was productive…AND I got in my workout!!

Here’s the run down:

  • Talked with April Ramirez about Toffee!! YUMMY!!  She’s a sponsor of our Cali event
  • Talked with Emily about photo shoots in Cali and our event promo flyer/card
  • Cleaned, Checked in with Marriott about event, Did other follow up work
  • Sent out BuffMother Tanks to several people…But NO MAIL!! Did you know that the PO was closed yesterday- it was Columbus day!
  • Bought the girls and boy Halloween costumes- I have a skeleton, a cat, a belly dancer and a dead football player
  • Cut Gunner’s hair- MOHAWK MAN!
  • Made Tacos for Supper
  • Gave Travis a nice neck massage after his stressful work day
  • Worked out (see details below)
  • Watched Gunner’s football game- They Won!! He caused a fumble for the other team!
  • Followed up with Julie regarding some Cali stuff- she is on the attack to make this event GREAT!
  • Watched the Vikings STINK! Oh my~ they were BAD!
     

Okay…my workout was going to be with my dear daughters during the day- but they insisted on going shopping instead so it ened up being last night after I dropped Gunner off for warm ups so the workout was FAST because I had to get to Gunner’s game-

Now today I’ve been productive already again!!!  I got my flight booked to California!!!  Whoohoo!! ;woohoo: I just love it that I am feeling better- I had no idea how horrible I felt the past 2 weeks until now that I do feel better- YAY!! cheerleaders Workout wise I have a lower body workout on tap today- no sure when exactly, but I will get it done.

Lunge O Ramma!

That was my workout today~ Lunge-O-Ramma!! I did video demos of MANY types of lunges today~ whoohoo!! it was a booty blast!!

Gunner had a game tonight too…he was moved from Defense to Offence and I am SO happy to say that was the best thing that could have happened. He ran well and hard~ he was the only player on his team to produce positive yards!!

Tomorrow~ I am hitting the gym hard and I will do intervals. My cough is pretty much GONE and i am confident I’ll rock my workout!! Have a stellar Thrus night!!

40 days to FIT!! Day 15…Whoohooo x 3!!!!

Today is Monday~ and the first day of School for my 4 kids, Whoohoo!!! The are in 4th, 2nd and 1st grades this year and they were all sooooo fired up for school it was GREAT! I don’t remember ever liking school, but it’s fun that my kids do Laughing

Right after I got them to school I went to the gym~ it’s really nice that I got it done first thing today! I lifted chest, tri’s, abs and finished off with intervals on the r-bike. Another Whoohooo!! for that!!!

And the 3rd Whoohooo~ is for our new and improved Rally Room Gallery!!! I am so pumped that my “Helper of Buffmother”/Darcie was able to get it up and working!!! Thank YOU!!! Be sure if you have any questions about it post them or pm one of us about it~ you’ll find it really nice for posting your progress pics etc. The gallery even allows for bulk uploads, comments and sub-albums. Whoohooo!!!
