Part 1~ Get fired up!! Mini challenge intro

Part 2- taking STATS :measurements and body fat calipers

Part 3- How to take your photos demonstration:

Let’s break these 5 KEY points down a bit-

#1-Take measurements, stats~ very important to use the same tape measure each time. I have a tape measure that’s sole purpose is for measuring bodies Snicker

~have the same person measure each time- I measure myself each time

~Be sure to note what cycle day you measure and what time of day also–it really makes a difference!

~Taking measurements is a great way to see if you are losing fat and gaining muscle- often times the scale will not reflect any change, but measurements show change

~Bodyfat measurements are optional, but if you do be sure to get the caliper mm readings along with the %. So that `when you compare you can see changes in the mm’s. Percentage reading are calculated using equations…these vary a ton! Personally I don’t ever figure my %, I just go my my caliper mm readings to see if I am losing or gaining body-fat. BF should also be done by the same person/same method/same circumstances each time in order to have an accurate comparison.

~ Here are the Measurements and STATS I personally take, the Specific ones you MUST TAKE are Located on the FINAL ENTRY FORM:

Today’s Date:_________ height:_____________ weight:___________ age:_______

  • Today’s cycle day-
  • Please list the following measurements:

  • Biceps (flexed at midpoint of upper arm):
  • Thigh-mid (about 8” above knee cap):
  • Thigh- upper (about 12” above knee cap):
  • Calf (about 7” below knee joint):

Caliper measurements (*these are the ones I like to track on myself and use to calculate my body fat, for further info on body fat measurements here is a link http://www.linear-software.com/online.html)

*Tricep:

*Thigh:

*Iliac:

Abdomen (I do this one for kicks, since I am an apple):

#2- Pictures

~Aim to produce photos that will be most comparable with the next set of progress photos you take.

~Photo are best taken in good lighting (during the day)

~take them with the same suit on, from the same distances and angles, on a light background and in heels.

~It is best for you to take following poses all full body*:

  1. straight on arms at sides
  2. straight on arms up and flexed
  3. from behind w/arms at sides
  4. behind with arms up flexing biceps
  5. from the side

#3-Starting Thoughts:

Where are you in your journey?
What are your goals and aspirations?
Where do you see this challenge taking you?
Do you feel that you are fully committed to completing it?
Do you have and fear or concerns?
What is your REASON for doing this, your WHY?
Are you excited about your support group?
How are you going to stay focused and engaged for the entire 70 days?
Will you reward yourself if you hit certain goals along the way?
What other thoughts are in your head at the moment?
#4- CHART your HORMONES

GET to know your body~!

Chart how you feel on a daily basis…START NOW!!! Here is a GREAT chart to use straight from my book

#5- Journal/Blog Daily

~I like to use the Super STAR Success Journal during my “contest” to keep me on track towards success in every area of my life. The 10 Foundations contained withing my book “Hormonal Timing” are about more than my fitness

~ I love to journal my workouts so that they are more effective and so that I can see my progress in other ways than just my pics and measurements–”I got stronger!!!” or “I can run harder way easier now!!”

~AND also, I love to blog! I blog about whatever pops into my head, some days that isn’t much Laughing

But other days it is a longer more intense “pump up” session for my soul!!

~ it is so fun to have that journal/blog to look back at as a record of my life!!

REMEMBER that this contest is about being CONSISTENT not about being perfect~ Don’t feel you have to “do it all perfectly”…THAT’s impossible!  The key is to JUST DO IT, do your best and know that if you can consistently be a tiny bit better better this week than  you were last week you will be successful.  Keep moving forward!!  Don’t allow your self to quit!

KEEP it simple, take your starting stats and pics this week…get your workouts done this week, then repeat that again for the next 10 weeks.  the KEY is to stay focused and JUST DO IT for 10 weeks….  at the end of the contest, you’ll feel proud about FINISHING the contest!

NO QUITTING ALLOWED!!

LET’s COMPLETE the TASK that we started and get some GREAT SUCCESS!!!

YOU DESERVE IT!!!

LOVE,

Michelle

What is your favorite lower body exercise?? Mine= Squats!!

Saturday was Feb 2nd and Day 2 of our Favorites February….

What is your favorite lower body exercise??
Mine= Squats!!

Here’s a video tutorial on how to squat~ Squats

Flash Animation

My Saturday was a good one, It started wtih a quick workout at the gym- LEGS of course…then directly to Gracie’s last regular season 5th grade BB game. They actually won!! It’s was a great way to finish the season, sort of…next week each night they have a TOURNAMENT!

Here’s My Workout Proof pic from yesterday~ #workoutproof

After  that I went home did some cleaning and met with the electrician about getting Gunner’s room “electrified”, LOL! Once that was done it was time to go PLAY on my tractor, build a fire and enjoy the amzing land God has blessed us with!

Once it got dark, I had to run to town again for a bit since Gracie’s BB Team was in charge of the gym clean up…It took about hour of my night~ which wasn’t super convient, but HEY Mommy has to do thing they don’t want to sometimes 🙂

The night wasn’t over yet…WE relucntantly decided to order the UFC PPV.  Most of the fights were duds, but I was happy to see Frankie Edgar lose. I’m not a fan of his.

It was a good day!! NOW to make this SUNDAY be AWESOME TOO!!

Love ya,

Michelle

P.S. Be sure to join in our FAVORITES FEBRUARY daily “chats”…Here’s the rest of week #1’s topics~

Is it really Friday??

Last night I took 6 young ladies to the Hobbit.  It was a long sit and made for a late night….the Hobbit was decent, a bit too many CREEPY Creatures, confusing for those who don’t already know the story (the lord of the rings tie in’s were assumed) and I thought that is should have had an ending regardless of if it’s the first of 3 or not. I’d give it a B-

The girls seemed to have fun, so that’s what mattered!

Yesterday’s workout was a success~

Chest/Tricep/Abs/Intervals and CLEANING* workout

*my workout took FOREVER to get done because I got distracted with cleaning, organizing and putting together a dumbbell rack while I was in the middle of my workout

Bench 45×10, 95×10-12x3sets push ups- 3 sets Incline flys- 30’sx10, 35’sx8x3sets Dips (on dip station)- 10, 8 Tricep extensions- 45#’sx12x3sets Bicep curls- 45x12to 15 reps x3sets

Abs between sets- knee ups on power tower, knee ups on bench, sit ups

Then I did intervals on my upright bike.  It had been forever since I did them~ and was a good workout!!

Today we have errands to run,  a couple Dr appts and have to bring the cousins home….not sure on the workout?? If I do anything it’ll be legs or a run.

From the looks of everyone’s new year excitement, we’ve had a very successful week #1 to the year!!

TGIF!~!!

Love, Michelle

FINAL photo preparation!!

SSS Week 1#10

INTRO Video….

OUTLINE Video….

If you’d like to get extra lean and mean for your photoshoot~ here is a basic photoshoot prep that I’ve used and recommended to many of my clients:
Photoshoot prep-

3 days out-
-Drink 1.5 gallons of water
-Cut your carbs to only 2.
-Eat very salty foods. And if you find this to be a problem, drink a couple of cups of chicken bullion. It is very imp ortant that you have a salt overload on this day

2 days out-
-Drink 1.5 gallons of water
-No carbs, protein veggies and fat only
-NO SALT
Put a coat of tanner on b4 bed- Loreal Sublime tanner with bronzer in it is the best!

1 day 1 out-
-Drink 1.5 gallons of water
-NO Workout
-No Carbs
-NO Salt
-No gas causing foods
-Take a water pill(diruex) B4 bed and
-no water after 8pm or so…time it so you have 12-16 hours without water prior to your shoot
-Put another coat of Tanner on

Photoshoot DAY!!

-No water or carbs until after the shoot
-Put another coat of tanner on
-Do your hair
-Over do your make up make sure you have some that will make your face a little tanner looking. What I use is a face bronzer, and 1 shade darker makeup for photoshoots. You may want to practice with this before hand.
Have fun!!
Bring music
(have a glass of wine)

Post photoshoot-
Drink a lot of water to rehydrate!!!
And be sure to eat a healthy meal.

MORE INFO About Photoshoot PREP VIDEO~

Today is day 2, of our contest and it’s  time for setting goals, thinking purposeful thoughts and committing to a PLAN!!

1.Goal Setting~ …what do I want to accomplish?  Take an honest look at where you are at and make goals that are attainable, yet challenging.  A good place to start is by taking your pictures and stats.  Once you have that truthful baseline you can asses how you are going to get to your destination.  Another key item to keep in mind with goal setting is set an EVENT~ a beach party, a special reunion, a wedding, a photo shoot, a trip…that EVENT will keep you accountable to your goals when things get “tough”.

My goals:

To take one day, one week at a time.  I’m looking to succeed in baby steps.   I expect to be fit in mind, body and spirit for the summer. I want my Ending pictures to show awesome results but  My #1 goal is to keep God #1 t; and keep the rest of my priorities in line after that- God, Travis, Kids, Family/ Friends and then …fitness and work.

My fitness goals revolve little around my weight, but more around my health and fitness level.  I’ve been struggling with eating enough to fuel all my training for football- so I need to focus on EATING .  I also want to increase my running capacity.  I plan to put some MILES on my new running shoes this month!  The goal is to run 3-4 times a week!

2. Thoughts~ be sure to journal or blog here about what you are thinking- some questions to ask yourself are: where you are at in your health? what you’ve been doing with your time the past few month? are you happy? how have you been eating?, etc…

My thoughts:

I have been in a season of “rest” for about 6 months.  I’ve recharged a lot, built up my immune system and increased my overall health.  The issues I had last year with stress are past me now.  Now it’s time for me to attack!!  I’m excited to attack all areas of my life again.  Fitness wise- I’m very excited to be sizzlin’ for my birthday.

3. Commitment~ It is important that you decide to stay committed…don’t allow yourself to QUIT.  Even if you miss an entire week of workouts due to a cold, you MUST NOT quit!  It’s never too late to start again!  The only way anyone ever attains their goals in life is by NOT QUITTING!  Decide here and now that you won’t quit!

My Commitment:

I am committed to my fitness…it is my medicine and it is VERY important to every aspect of my happiness and success in life.  Being committed to fitness is not a choice…I will never quit and I am committed to this plan for the next six weeks!!.

What are your goals?

Are you thinking on PURPOSE?

Are you committed?

I am!!  And that’s why I will be Sizzlin’ in 6 weeks~ come on the journey with me!!

Whoohoo, It’s gonna rock!!

Michelle

"Sizzlin' in 6": Week 1; Day 1

MONDAY MAY 2nd is DAY 1 of our contest!!!

Congrats!! and THANKS! for trusting me with your body~ Over the next 6 weeks my goal is to get you Sizzlin’ HOT for Summer.

We have a lot of work to do so let’s get started:

Today I’d like you to focus on 3 items:

#1- Getting in a great FIRST workout- Upper body, Intervals and ABS are on tap- please see Sizzlin’ in 6: Day 1

#2- Start improving your Diet- I challenge you to limit  DESSERTS/CANDY/ALCOHOL in your life for the next 6 weeks. For those of you who are really brave you can challenge yourself to completely ELIMINATE them all together!!  In the place of dessert- you can indulge in Fruit.  Let’s make a huge focus on what foods WE CAN EAT!!  You can always eat Fruit, Veggies, Proteins and FAT (yes, I said fat)!!

#3- Take a set of starting photos and stats.  You need to measure your success and you’ll be thankful when you are done that you have proof of where you started!!  Photos: take at least 3- front, side and back.  Stats: take ate least 5:  Weight, Bust, waist, hip, and thigh.

Remember to simply take 1 day at a time…BABY STEPS!  Each and every positive desicion will add up towards your success.

Let’s Sizzle!!

-Michelle

Okay…so some starting thoughts are WOW! I am not in the best shape at the moment.  Much better than were I was a month ago- so that’s GREAT news!!
I am excited for my new “football adventure” but that means I need to maintain my weight and energy and recovery level.
Today at the start of week #2 I am officially starting to boost.  For me that means eating about double the portion size I have been and getting back on CREATINE!  I’ve been off it for 2-3 months and can totally tell by the flab on my hips and my lower energy levels.  Time to get serious about being an ATHLETE!
Yesterday I had my first ever in my life live tackle football practice where I actually “HIT” and got hit!  I took some good blows and delivered several too.  I’ll take some pictures of my bruises for you tomorrow.
I did manage to get in an back, shoulder, bicep and intervals+ cardio workout tonight but now I am SPENT! I can barely lift my arms, lol!
