Spring Break is over!!

I had a good week with the kids home on SPRING BREAK, but very glad they are back in school today!

It’s Week #9 in our SSS contest– 14 days left! Big changes can happen in 2 weeks, so let’s keep pushing hard!

Your challenge this week is simple…. Drink 1.5 gallons of water a each day
Typically my recommendation is to drink your GOAL body weight in ounces of water daily…

But this week let’s get more aggressive after our water intake. Let’s strive for 1.5 gallons = 192 oz or 5.7 liters or 24 cups of water.

Chug a lug!!!

Yesterday, I got in a good solid leg workout.

warm up- air squats, light dead lifts
Squat 45×10, 135×10, 155x10x2sets, 135×10
Dead lift 135x10x3sets
Leg Extensions 90×15, 115x12x3sets
leg curls- bowflex (it’s been awhile since i’ve done these, a pain to set it up)
80x10x3sets
Lunges- 30# on back
sidex10, stationaryx10, sidex10, stationaryx10
hip ups, knee ups, hip swivels between sets

Also in the middle of my workout I did my Bikini Birthday Countdown pic….a bunch of people thought I workout in my heels and bikini, LOL!!  NOPE I do not!

So on Saturday we had a chick hatch, 1 out of the 8 I incubated and the poor thing is so lonely!  CHIRPS so LOUD constantly when you are not holding it! We barley slept despite having every “white noise” on in the house.  Crazy little chick!  Gracie carried it around with her most of the day yesterday and Cuji seems to like it too– however, I do not trust her not to eat the little bird!

By the way I am doing the 6 to sexy workout program and had a really good week #1 on it, I actually did an extra lifting day!! YAY!!  The only problem I am having is my left thumb joint by the pad/wrist…I’ve been battling with it a little over a month. Wondering if it’s some sort of arthritis because I can’t remember doing anything odd to it.  It’s really making me unable to hold the bar and weights for certain lifts- bench is especially hard on it. I’ve modified my upper body workouts the best I can, thankfully I can still do my leg workout and run just fine 🙂

Time to get up and GULP some water!!

I broke into the 120’s!

HOLY COW, I finally, finally saw 129.8 on the scale today!! It’s been since August that I’ve been trying to get a reading in the 120’s!!  YAY!!

I’ve got 2 things new that I’m doing to THANK for the weight drop:
1- Thyrocare supplement– started taking this again this week

Fun to see some FLUFF coming off!!

I ran last night, harder than a couple days ago– went up to 9mph for my intervals and decided to be done after I hit the 2 mile mark at 15:40 due to some DIZZINESS– must not be getting enough OXYGEN just yet

 

Today, I’m not sure how I’ll get a workout done. I’ve got a meeting at 2 for my Diabetes charity event www.BuffMother.com/kissapig

Then we have dinner at my SIL’s at 6…hmmmmm….. May have to get creative.

Final Week Excitement

Alright, had a good day yesterday.  Worked on cleaning out the chicken coop and the shed.  What a mess!  Now that’s done, so today I’ve got to attack the garage some more. I’ve slowly been getting it cleared out for our “gym” it’s 2 steps forward, 1 step back as items keep finding their way back in to the space!

 

I’m in the final days of my www.dietbet.com game. Weigh in is on Monday or Tuesday and I have to be 130.9 to “win”…may have to cut some water weight, lol!! I refuse to LOSE, lol!

 

Yesterday I did my fasted cardio on the trampoline, it was fun and I am feeling it today in my joints a bit, so I’ll just bike today…. I also got in a decent leg workout yesterday afternoon. It wasn’t a full one due to still being sore from the previous one and feeling the effects of the trampoline

I did do:

Sissy Squats

Bulgarians

Squats (up to 155 for a set)

Some abs and hip stuff too

 

Last night, DD’s made cup cakes– I had an epic FAIL moment by eating 2 of them! WHAT?! seriously why did I do that??!!  Oh well today’s a new day and I have the following eats planned:

EggsProtein shake

Salad and Tuna

chicken lettuce wraps

 

For workouts today I’ve got bike for 20 mins; then later back, shoulders, biceps and a run + LUNGES on tap.  Feeling like I’m getting more fit every day! My runs have been much easier and am getting to the point to where I have to focus on PUSHING HARDER during them so I can keep improving vs. merely just putting one foot in-front of the other, lol! Bladder is getting better, so that’s good! I’m excited to have a good better week!

Sunny Saturday

Sunny beautiful Saturday here!! It’s going to be in the 80’s~ a MUST to get outside today and enjoy.

Yesterday I ended up running outside, then rode bike for another 22 mins after that. Felt so TIRED last night but thanks to some afternoon coffee yesterday I could NOT fall asleep!

 

Anyhow…up now heading to my bike, then planning to eat some really good food today. I feel like a salad

Last night I got in my bikini pic~ looks like I’m leaning up a bit despite the water retention:

 

My weight was 135 this morning…something weird is going on with my body right now.  Tons of water retention and stiffness/inflammation.  NO FUN! Mojo is a bit down…Been a bit ill since about Wednesday this week. My bladder is causing me some issues…the thing about it is that I get re-curring UTI infections and typically STRESS is what triggers them. I don’t feel like I have a full blown UTI, but I do feel like it’s on the verge– this water retention is a sign of my kidneys being weird too. Hopefully, it won’t go full blown!

 

Regardless, I know I’ll feel better if I get moving and get in some sunshine today!!

What is it you really WANT?

Just finished with some fasted biking and will lift later…didn’t get in any workout yesterday.

Life is so good! I’m very excited for September in many ways…but have this question running through my brain recently… “What is it that you really WANT?”

I’m going to work on answering that for myself this September!

Fitness wise, My goals for the next 3 months are just to be HEALTHY and very CONSISTENT in my workouts.  I’ve been researching and RE-learning much about how the thyroid and insulin hormones work to regulate our bodies for a SEMINAR I’m teaching on Sept. 11th…it’s VERY TRUE that hormones affect EVERYTHING in our body! If we operate blindly without that realization we will NOT have the best results.

Mexico was a blast, Travis and I both really needed the time to “CHILL”, we needed to just escape.

The weather was very nice, a big mish-mosh but overall NICE most of the time.  We had 1 day where the sun was full blast and we made it a “TOTAL BEACH DAY”…it was fun to get in the water with the waves. Thankfully my toe handled most all of what we did great.  It continues to improve daily.  We worked out all but 2 days of the trip, played some ping pong, danced a bit and played pool volleyball too!

The most fun times were the conversations we had– we just really enjoy spending time together!!  We met a few interesting people too… One guy was from England, named Gram…we saw him spend HOURS trying to learn to windsurf. He would not give up! It was inspirational and fun to see him get after it at the age of 46 It inspired both Travis and I to keep trying NEW things in our life.

The kids and Grandma seemed very happy to see us, it’s so fun to come home to people that love you. Last night we all went to Gunner’s first game of the season.  He played mostly linebacker but also played some blocking back on offense. He’s very strong and much bigger than most of the kids on the field. He had some very nice hits and played very aggressive. It was fun to see!

Tonight the twins are going off to sleep overs, Gunner is going to the HS football game and Gracie’s got a friend coming over. There’s always action going on with 4 kids…They are awesome!

Time for me to get rolling on my to do’s…

P.S. finally updated my measurements that I hurriedly took before we left on our trip. Can see the increase in bodyfat, mostly “Belly fat”.  Overall though, I am OVER IT…having the time to just CHILL in Mexico this past week really made me understand how blessed I truly am!

Sweet Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the MOMMAs I know.  Your sacrifices are awe-inspiring  and unconditional love is forever astonishing.  May God Bless you today and always! “The Lord watches over you. I feel bad that I’ve been a bit MIA the past few days…I’ve been spending less time on the computer and more time CLEANING, lol! Yesterday we attacked the shop where Travis does his woodworking. It’s is a super mess, but already better.   He’s got to finish it up some today.  BUT after that we plan to build some FIRES.  It’s our tradition on MOTHERS DAY TO BURN IT  DOWN!! WHOOHOOO!!

Today, I got to sleep in a bit.  But now I’m prepping for my workout.  I’ve been doing well to get in my fasted biking and it’s been getting easier. HOWEVER, I have not been pushing it as fast as I did the first day.  My RPMs have been in the mid 60’s instead of low 70’s because I’ve been multi tasking.  Practicing singing and learning a monologue during the 20 mins– so I can’t push it too hard and do both, lol!  I actually think today I’ll get my lifting workout done and then bike. I have chest/triceps, and the LaCroix to do and then I’ll bike for 20.

Now for my weight update. Well…I started up taking L-glutamine again about 2 weeks ago and HOLY COW it makes me retain water like crazy!!  2 days ago I was UP 5 pounds from it, I decided I can’t handle it and stopped taking it yesterday. Already the water is shedding…I am now at 131 and hope it’ll be off within the week.  I’m wondering if the kind/brand/form of L-glutamine was crappy because in the past my body had not responded like that.  We’ll see, but for now, I’ll stick to my NO2 and Creatine, but no L-glutamine.

My workouts for the past few days:

Saturday: bike 23mins fasted; afternoon back, bi, shoulders + treadmill intervals +Cleaned shed for at least 4 hours Friday: Legs +Ham- plus cleaned all day! Thursday: Shopping with Travis (It was EXHAUSTING); 6 pack of PEPSI

Wednesday: 40mins fasted bike; Trail hills run +2 sprints

I’m a day behind on my POA, so I’ll shift just shift them forward a day:

I ended up having a very fun day yesterday…got to talk with SUZI!!  She’s such a firecracker.  I cleaned up my office a bit more to make room for a new work station my husband is building me.  Got in a solid workout and then  Went out on a little date with the hubby.

 

Now today I’ve been working, cleaning, working and soon to be getting in my workout then run some errands.

ABS/BOOTY!!

PLUS: It’s SUPER HERO Saturday and your challenged to Drink some TEA today

SUPERHERO Saturday is all about you doing EXTRA ORDINARY things today– I love getting in the mood with a super hero shirt, thinking about how cool it would be to have a super power and taking action towards being physically strong like a super hero.

Why TEA? Well, it’s a fun way to get some nutrients, to detox, to get a bit of caffeine, and to spice up your water intake

 

My Day 2 didn’t go exactly as planned….I only managed the 11 minute Lower Body SlimChick Band workout.  I was too busy having outdoor adventures to even change into my workout duds.

 

 

I also failed to eat cukes or lettuce   I did get in some carrots and green beans though!  I’ll eat a cucumber salad today for lunch and I plan to make some ICE TEA to drink while I sunbath a bit today. It’s a GORGEOUS day here today!!

 

I will do the SlimChick ABS/Booty workout today PLUS I’ll get in my missed leg lifting to boot.  I may also hit the trail for a run SINCE I am a SUPERHERO!! …I plan to mow it today first though. The grass is getting so long!

 

I’m off to be a superhero!!
