Happy Friday

This week has flown by! I can’t believe it’s Friday??  I want to congratulate so many of you on your KILLER first week in the BB.com transformation contest. You are inspiring me with your awesome reports of lifting hard and being sore!!

 

I have had a decent week of workouts, I’ve not been lifting as hard as I had planned but I am getting good running workouts done and am lifting some.

 

Tue- ran hard hill sprints

Wed- did my lower body buffing from my book

Thurs- ran outside 12 loops plus 3 1 min hills– good longer type run

We’ve had Gracie home sick now 3 days this week. She’s had a fever and sinus/cold type symptoms…Stayed home Tues and Wed– went to school yesterday and now home again today.  Hoping she’ll get feeling better now that she’s got the whole weekend to recoup.

 

Today I have to run some errands into Bentonville.  Then pick up Grandma so she can come hang out with us again.   She splits time between here and my SIL’s house during the winter– in her escape from MN!

Sunny Saturday

Sunny beautiful Saturday here!! It’s going to be in the 80’s~ a MUST to get outside today and enjoy.

Yesterday I ended up running outside, then rode bike for another 22 mins after that. Felt so TIRED last night but thanks to some afternoon coffee yesterday I could NOT fall asleep!

 

Anyhow…up now heading to my bike, then planning to eat some really good food today. I feel like a salad

Last night I got in my bikini pic~ looks like I’m leaning up a bit despite the water retention:

 

My weight was 135 this morning…something weird is going on with my body right now.  Tons of water retention and stiffness/inflammation.  NO FUN! Mojo is a bit down…Been a bit ill since about Wednesday this week. My bladder is causing me some issues…the thing about it is that I get re-curring UTI infections and typically STRESS is what triggers them. I don’t feel like I have a full blown UTI, but I do feel like it’s on the verge– this water retention is a sign of my kidneys being weird too. Hopefully, it won’t go full blown!

 

Regardless, I know I’ll feel better if I get moving and get in some sunshine today!!

Do you ever feel a bit sick??

Do you ever feel a bit sick??  — like with a raw throat? Well I did yesterday but, didn’t let it stop me from getting in a bit of a workout~ I think it was just what I needed  to rid this body of the TOXINS! A Word of CAUTION ~  practice extra careful “SANITARY” lifting at the gym ESPECIALLY if you may be getting ill– wash your hands, wipe down equipment and don’t cough on others!

Intervals on Treadmill…haven’t been running on tready much, so I didn’t push it too hard so my joints didin’t go into shock.  I ran my easy minutes at 6mph, hard at 7mph x4 and then finished with the last 3 hard mins at 8mph.

Today, I’m going to get in a full chest/tricep workotu and run again~ OUTSIDE this time, I needs my Sunshine!!

p.s. Yesterday 1-22-13 was cday1 (cycle was 25dasy), weight 131.6 ; Today weight is ___on cycle day 2– and I’m feeling better today 🙂 Both in my tummy and in my head/nose/throat

Shine in 49: Day 16

HI!!

It’s Day 16 and time for LEGS once again–We switched up workouts this week
to a more traditional lifting routine.  Be sure to REST between sets for at least a minute and maybe even 2 in order to lift heavy.

 

 

MAKE  every rep COUNT!!

Well,  Yesterday, my 12th day of “Shine in 49” was a great one!!…my brain is finally working and I am motivation is HIGH. According to my hormonal cycle it’s time to BUFF my body!!! I am going to keep taking creatine through this buffing phase~ but the last 2 weeks of this contest I’ll cut it out, so that I can lose the tiny bit of water retention from it!

I also got to spend some time relaxing outside- I love some sunshine!!
It was a GOOD DAY!!

Wellness

HI all!!  Well I am home from my day of “wellness”…I went tanning for my mental/sunshine/warmth needs, I went to the chiro for my adjustment and the I went to massage therapist for my muscle relaxation needs. I believe it has and will continue to help me get back to healthy workouts next week!!

Seeing all of your fun CONTEST posts and first test results has made me VERY excited to do mine next week!!  Please be sure to watch/read the blog posts about the contest to this point.  They are all accessible UNDER THE “BOOKS” section on the left hand menu under JUST DO IT! – 6 weeks

I’ve been doing a bunch more research today on rehab stuff for my butt and back…I think what I’ll do is write up a little “series” for the rally room to summarize what I’m going to do these next few weeks to get back on the attack now that I am able to MOVE again, lol! It’s so sad to me that I may have to give up my fighting class for awhile…the kicking is probably part of my problem 🙂  I may talk to the instructor about working around my back for a couple weeks?? But I HATE that! I’d almost rather just not go then have to “alter” my participation.

Okay…NOW…I’m putting this here for myself as reference and a reminder- It doesn’t mean anything more that I am “toying” with the idea of doing this contest…who knows:

Now is the time to build muscle!

Muscle is a MUST if you want to keep a youthful shape to your body.  As I get older I am more and more aware of how my peers are losing their bodies and MUSCLE LOSS is the reason why.  I want to keep my youthful shape; Now is the time to build muscle.  My body will thank me as each year ticks by that I have taken the time to continually build my muscles.

My workouts this week have been GREAT!!  I am very sore in all the right placed (my butt!!) from my leg workout on Wednesday and today I got in a very strong BOOSTING upper body workout (thanks to all the food yesterday, lol).

Refreshed!!!


I am feeling quite refreshed today!! I had a good flight to LA…thought a lot about my resolutions for 2009 and last night I focused on recharging:
I ate a great meal-a Cesar salad, hibachi steak with mashed potatoes at the Cheese Cake factory and I even ordered cheesecake for dessert to go~ the 1st time I’ve ever had cheese cake from there….crazy since I’ve eaten there 10+ times. It was good….
Once I was back at the hotel I just layed in bed, watched tv, fiddled on my computer and SLEPT! I needed the rest (my legs are SORE from my last workout~ ouch!).
So today my focus is to practice hard for my DVD shoot and to enjoy some of the awesome sunshine here! It is going to be 85 today!!! beach
Hope you have a super productive day and be sure to take some time to REFRESH! REST is vital to our bodies health…don’t deny yourself REST when you need it!
