HEY!!! Welcome to Week #2 of our “Six to SEXY” contest!!!
I hope you are refreshed from your rest day to hit it hard this week.

 

The word for today is DETERMINED!!

 

I am so DARN DETERMINED to get to my goal!! I love that feeling of FOCUS!!!
DETERMINATION is a GREAT thing!!!

My determination will lead me to workout hard again today!!! I am on fire!!

 

hope you are equally DETERMINED to get your workout done and make it better than your last one!!  Lift heavier, push harder and focus on getting results at the gym!!

 

Today’s workout suggestion is:

Upper body, ABS and Intervals

Be sure to start with a warm up- 10 mins on the bike is a great place to start

 

UPPER BODY- Circuit- do all exercises upper body in the order as listed; repeat the circuit 3 times.  #1 then immediately #2 then immediately #3 etc…then the entire series again for 3 rounds
EXERCISES DATE
UPPER BODY
#1-Chest press or Push ups regular or on knees lbs.
3 sets to  failure reps.
#2-Rows- machine or bent over holding dumbbells lbs.
3 sets of  10 reps reps.
#3- Tricep machine or Chair dips- for triceps lbs.
3 sets of 10 reps each reps.
#4-shoulder press machine or DB Shoulder Press lbs.
3 sets of  10 reps reps.
#5-Bicep machine curls or DB Bicep Curl lbs.
3 sets of  10 reps reps.
#6-Cable tricep push downs or Tricep extension lbs.
3 sets of  10 reps reps.
#7-Standing Lateral/Side shoulder Raises (flies) with DB’s lbs.
3 sets of  10 reps reps.

ABS:

 

ABS–CPTME…SIMPLE 7 for 7 – REFER to my book “AFTER BABY ABS” for an explanation of these exercises and terms
Passive Abs
Sit ups- hands on hammies
Vacuums!! 10- 10 seconds daily
Knee ups- roman chair are best
Traditional AB crunch
Ball Crunches
Cats/Dogs

Then intervals like these:

Stair mill
15 mins of intervals
hard mins at 8 and 9 easy mins at 6
+ 8 mins cool down on r-bike

 

ALSO, Don’t forget about CHARTING YOUR HORMONES~ Here’s some questions to ask yourself~

1- what cycle day is it for you?
2- what was your weight today?
3- do you notice any water retention in your body? if yes, where?
4- are there any “other” factors of importance to note about your weight gain or loss today?

 

BE DETERMINED to reach your goals!! And remember that together we CAN change the world for the better!!! Let’s Be DETERMINED to lead by EXAMPLE and in turn help every woman be inspired become their best ALSO!!

It take’s BRAINS to be SEXY! (3 steps)

Our SEXY FOCUS is just barely underway and it’s time to set goals, to have purposeful thoughts and to commit!! 3 Simple steps will help your mindset be prepared for success in this 6 week journey to SEXY.

It takes BRAINS to be SEXY!

STEP #1 Goal Setting~ …what do I want to accomplish?
Take an honest look at where you are at and make goals that are attainable, yet challenging.

~A good place to start is by taking your pictures and stats (this week’s challenge).
Once you have that truthful baseline you can asses how you are going to get to your destination.

~Another key item to keep in mind with goal setting is to set an “EVENT”, a specific timeline,  to hit your goal. An event like a birthday party, a special reunion, a wedding, a photo-shoot, a trip…Build up your excitement for that EVENT!!  It will keep you accountable to take the daily steps needed in order to attain your goals.  It will get you through when things get “tough”.

#2 Control your Thoughts~ Have purposeful thoughts…
Be sure to journal or blog somewhere about what you are thinking.
Some questions to ask yourself:

  • Where am I at in taking care of my health?
  • Do I need to visit the Dr.? or enlist professional help?
  • What have I been doing with my time the past few months?
  • I’m I “over-booked” OR “under-booked”
  • Am I happy? What will make me truly happy?
  • Have I  been focusing on fueling your body with the NUTRIENTS it needs?

#3 Commitment to your goals~ Quitting is not an option..
Are you committed to follow through? It is important that you decide to stay committed…don’t allow yourself to QUIT.  Even if you miss an entire week of workouts due to a cold or a super busy time…. You MUST NOT quit! If you falter a bit, that’s normal! The real winners dust themselves off and start again without looking back! The only way anyone ever attains their goals in life is by NOT QUITTING! Decide here and now that you won’t quit! Let’s use keep our minds positive, strong and engaged!!

Six Weeks To SEXY ~ 2016 (day 1)

Today is the start of our 6 week journey to SEXY!! After the taxing winter months I am so ready for this day 1 of 42 that will be focused on being SEXY!!

Today is DAY 1 of our sexy quest!!!  Over the next 6 weeks my goal is to get you Sexy HOT for Summer.

We have a lot of work to do so let’s get started:

Today I’d like you to focus on 3 items:

#1- Getting in a great FIRST workout- Upper body, Intervals and ABS is my suggestion- I won’t be providing exact workouts every day for the contest, but I’ll post some as we go along and help you along as needed (www.TeamBuffMother.com VIP’s have a workout download in their forum area)

#2- Start improving your Diet- I challenge you to limit  DESSERTS/CANDY/ALCOHOL in your life for the next 6 weeks. For those of you who are really brave you can challenge yourself to completely ELIMINATE them all together!!  In the place of dessert- you can indulge in Fruit.  Let’s make a huge focus on what foods WE CAN EAT!!  You can always eat Fruit, Veggies, Proteins and FAT (yes, I said fat)!!

#3- Take a set of starting photos and stats- see Week 1 Challenge post.  You need to measure your success and you’ll be thankful when you are done that you have proof of where you started!!  Photos: take at least 3- front, side and back.  Stats: take ate least 5:  Height, Weight, Bust, waist and hip.  Please post in your blog for accountability (and for safe keeping)

Remember to simply take 1 day at a time…BABY STEPS!  Each and every positive decision will add up towards your success. Let’s get SEXY!!

Personally, I have lots of thoughts about what I’d like to accomplish over the next 6 weeks.  Many of them have to do with PURE VANITY!

I wanna look good come summer and it’s time to get after it.

Most specifically my goal is to look and feel great for a couple trips I have planned this summer.

To attain my SEXY goal several items need to be addressed~

  1. Physical fitness
  2. Energy levels
  3. Skin, hair, nails and teeth
  4. Attire- shoes included
  5. Presentation- walk the walk, dance, how you move, your PRESENCE
  6. Be ON! that X factor that’s needed to exude confidence to “SHINE!”- my SPIRIT!

EACH Day, I encourage you to blog and post whatever is on your mind about the topic of SEXY!!

68 to Sexy

I’m 3 days into my personal 70 day challenge and I’m already expecting to see major results.  Could I be just a little impatient??

Anyhow, had a busy day dealing with expenses, taxes, insurance and student loans…got late to Gracie’s guitar lesson– so grabbed a hat and my make up bag on the way out the door.  About 2 miles from her lesson the check tire light came on and DOWN it went! luckily I was able to get to her lesson and parked before the tire went completely flat.  Got road side assistance to come out– 1.5 hours later we were on the road home.

 

I did my vlog while waiting for the tow truck (if this isn’t working it’s still uploading)

so just now I finished my workout

A back lifting circuit x2

pull ups

pull overs

rows

bicep curls

military press

lateral raises

hammer curls

 

Then a treadmill run of intervals for 20 mins most of my hard mins at 9mph.

 

I am a sweaty mess!!

I had a facial today, ran a couple errands and had my house cleaned…being pampered rocks!!  Then came home to an inbox full of awesomeness! Thanks for all the great responses to my plea for testimonials!! I’ve been working on responding to them, about half way there!

 

It’s day 39 in our contest

I’m going to take today as a rest day. I’m beat and we are fighting a cold at our house, so I don’t want to get too run down. Gunner has a game in about an hour, I’m going to eat something and get ready to roll!

Sunny Saturday

Sunny beautiful Saturday here!! It’s going to be in the 80’s~ a MUST to get outside today and enjoy.

Yesterday I ended up running outside, then rode bike for another 22 mins after that. Felt so TIRED last night but thanks to some afternoon coffee yesterday I could NOT fall asleep!

 

Anyhow…up now heading to my bike, then planning to eat some really good food today. I feel like a salad

Last night I got in my bikini pic~ looks like I’m leaning up a bit despite the water retention:

 

My weight was 135 this morning…something weird is going on with my body right now.  Tons of water retention and stiffness/inflammation.  NO FUN! Mojo is a bit down…Been a bit ill since about Wednesday this week. My bladder is causing me some issues…the thing about it is that I get re-curring UTI infections and typically STRESS is what triggers them. I don’t feel like I have a full blown UTI, but I do feel like it’s on the verge– this water retention is a sign of my kidneys being weird too. Hopefully, it won’t go full blown!

 

Regardless, I know I’ll feel better if I get moving and get in some sunshine today!!

My 6 for Wednesday!

6 Daily Goals– that will be topics in my daily journal

  1. cycle day- today is day 28…I don’t feel sexy, but I am feeling a bit more mojo than the past couple days.  Happy my cycle is being at least normal length again.
  2. weight- I weighed in at 132.4 today…not bad but could be better. Excited to see the scale start moving down again next week!
  3. Sexy To do’s- This was yesterday’s topic:

     

  4. Workout- Plan is to Ride bike and this afternoon Lift Legs. Today’s Sexy Topic

  6. Sexy Actions- I will get dolled up for bringing my son to the Dr. and I will help him get his confidence on by giving him a hair cut, lol!  I will also try to do my SEXY WORKOUT today. The goal is to lift legs + do a butt sandwich

I love weights!

Today was a TIME WARP day, lol! I slept in this morning and ever since have been on the GO! GO! GO!! Still feeling pretty good for cycle day 23…still holding steady during my boosting at 132.2 even after a “FAILED” day of eating yesterday. Went out for lunch with hubby, had nachos at the game and then an ice cream cone afterwards?? WHAT was that about?? Anyhow today was a new day and I’ve done better!

 

Today’s SEXY POST….

I’m going to push into some ENERGIZERS this weekend. Maybe even get DH to go on a DATE with me?  He’s all about being on the farm now that hunting season is on so that may be harder than you’d think, lol!
I just completed my run of intervals that I did AFTER my chest/tricep lifting workout.  I didn’t get in my fasted bike this am, due to sleeping in, but I will tomorrow. Every day I don’t do it, I now regret it.  Maybe it’s becoming a habit?
Have I ever told you that I love weights? LOL!

Quickie

Today’s been a great day. Perfect for this time of the month. Kinda laid back, low stress, lunch with the hubby and now off to a football game!

I’ve even  got a lot of work accomplished today!

For workouts I got in my morning bike and just finished a super quick back/shoulder/biceps circuit of about 20 mins worth of lifting.  Not what I had planned, but in a time crunch!  At least I did something!!

A million and 1 things

How come I want to do a million and 1 things all at the same time? It is a constant struggle for me to “FOCUS” on one task at a time. I think it stems from the years of raising 4 kids + a husband who all demand my attention at the same time! Anyhow, today is cycle day 21 and I feel it– slow moving today, tired, scattered, body aches and such. HIF is on! But, I will overcome!
