Finally!!! I have time to sit and truly blog!  I’ve been so busy keeping up with all the new member registrations, questions, contest info and questions that I’ve not taken the time to truly “REFLECT” on my own goals for the 6 to Sexy contest.

Week #1~ 6 Weeks to SEXY! (6toSexy) Stats, pics and WHY?

Today’s workout will be~
Fasted bike (just finished 28mins) and this afternoon Lift Lower Body and ABS…I had to skip the LIFTING yesterday due to cracking bruising and cutting the back of my heel with a chair, hubby having a flat tire and simply running out of TIME/Energy.  I did however get in 20 mins fasted biking…so that’s better than NOTHING!

Now to reflect on yesterday’s “It takes Brains to be SEXY” assignment:

3 Simple steps  to help your mindset be prepared for success in this contest.

It takes BRAINS to be SEXY!


STEP #1 Goal Setting~ …what do I want to accomplish?
Take an honest look at where you are at and make goals that are attainable, yet challenging.

~Start by taking your pictures and stats (I will do this today!!).
Even though I don’t have the pics or stats fully taken, I KNOW where I am at. I am weighing in daily 131 to 133 pounds which means I am holding FAT in my tummy and upper body mostly. My fall clothes are all tight and trust me the weight gain is NOT MUSCLE   The cold hard truth is that I’ve been slacking on my diet and I’ve also been “skipping” some of my workouts.  Time to buckle down!

~Set an “EVENT”

The movie I am in was just selected to be featured in the HOT SPRINGS HORROR FILM FESTIVAL on October 23-26th. That’s a goal date for me to look better, then keep pressing in to have even better results come the final day of our contest on Nov. 2nd!

#2 Control your Thoughts~ Have purposeful thoughts…

Some questions to ask yourself:

  • Where am I at in taking care of my health?

I am in a good place. Recently I’ve been TRYING several things, all to find that they’ve been no help. So I’m taking “time off”those items and pressing into taking my blood glucose levels throughout the day to try and figure some things out with it.  For those of you that don’t know, about 2 years ago, I found out I have rather bad insulin resistance and have been eating very low carb since then. Recently I’ve not found the success with it that I first did.  I’m exploring adding in a few more carbs but need to watch my blood glucose levels and symptoms as I do so.

  • Do I need to visit the Dr.? or enlist professional help?

I have, and will if I feel I need assistance with my insulin issues.  Fall is coming and I’m scared of how the lack of Vit D. affects me.  May need to go tanning, lol!

  • What have I been doing with my time the past few months?

I’ve been keeping busy that’s for sure, but not very productive.  I feel like I’m just hitting my stride again the past couple weeks. Thank God for the kids being back in school!

  • I’m I “over-booked” OR “under-booked”

I’m perfectly booked at the moment, which for me is slightly overbooked.  I work best when I have a extra stuff going on. Just have to keep it from becoming WAY TOO MUCH!

  • Am I happy? What will make me truly happy?

I have to be honest, I should be happy, but I am not really at the moment. I’d describe myself at PEACE, but needing to find my JOY/Happiness.  I feel that I’m at a crossroads in life/business, but am confident that after a few changes are implemented I’ll be at a HAPPIER place.

What makes me truly happy is knowing I am making an impact on others for good.  And Knowing that I am truly being a “light in the darkness” for God.


  • Have I  been focusing on fueling your body with the NUTRIENTS it needs?

Not exactly! I’ve got to get more focused on this. A big stumbling block for me recently is that I’ve been slowly gaining weight without really eating as much as I know I “should” be eating. I’m scared to eat all that I know I should because I feel that would lead to more weight gain.  It’s a vicious cycle because then my workouts suffer, my recovery suffers and I remain stagnant in my progress.  IT’s a mental battle and a battle of insulin/blood sugar ~ PLUS some thyroid issues added in.  As I mentioned above…I do plan to strategically add in a few more carbs- specifically during my next boosting phase (in 10 days) for now I’m keeping it low carb/lower cals to press into my buffing.


#3 Commitment to your goals~ Quitting is not an option..
Are you committed to follow through?

Yes, I’m very committed!  I will not quit even if I don’t exactly attain my goals.

SUPERHERO Saturday is all about you doing EXTRA ORDINARY things today– I love getting in the mood with a super hero shirt, thinking about how cool it would be to have a super power and taking action towards being physically strong like a super hero.

Why TEA? Well, it’s a fun way to get some nutrients, to detox, to get a bit of caffeine, and to spice up your water intake


My Day 2 didn’t go exactly as planned….I only managed the 11 minute Lower Body SlimChick Band workout.  I was too busy having outdoor adventures to even change into my workout duds.



I also failed to eat cukes or lettuce   I did get in some carrots and green beans though!  I’ll eat a cucumber salad today for lunch and I plan to make some ICE TEA to drink while I sunbath a bit today. It’s a GORGEOUS day here today!!


I will do the SlimChick ABS/Booty workout today PLUS I’ll get in my missed leg lifting to boot.  I may also hit the trail for a run SINCE I am a SUPERHERO!! …I plan to mow it today first though. The grass is getting so long!


I’m off to be a superhero!!

Every Day in May~ Day 1

Hey ya !!

Today’s suggested workout is a Purple band UPPER BODY WORKOUT:


I am going to do the Band workout for my warm up then hit the weights for a bit more focus on my BACK and CHEST…then go for a hills run.

Our diet challenge for today is to eat some fish! Each day of the week we have a set diet challenge that is meant to get you thinking about your food intake and help you get out of the “grind” of eating the same things all the time.  Variety in food intake is vital for nutritional and mental reasons.  Try some fish today!  Tuna, Salmon and Talapia are some of the fish I eat.


This week’s diet focus is to Drink More Water!

With the weather warming up realize you may need to up your water intake from where it has been the past few months.  A good goal intake is at least half of your body weight in ounces daily, but often times up to 1 gallon a day is recommended for those with higher protein intake and for those who consistently workout.  Water is vital for flushing out toxins in your body and the transport of nutrients to your cells.  Key things to keep in mind are that when you initially up your water intake you may retain water for a day or two, but then your body will regulate itself and you’ll find that the consistent higher intake of water will help you NOT retain water.  Beware that too much water can be dangerous…if you find that you are cramping or constantly thirsty despite drinking tons of water or light headed, you may be consuming too much water and flushing minerals and electrolytes from your body.  If that’s the case lower your intake and consider supplementing with a good healthy sodium.


Our fitness focus for the week is building Endurance.

Endurance is your aerobic fitness. It’s what allows you to Go, Go, Go!! This week take some time to strive to be MORE ACTIVE! Here’s some ideas on how to increase your ENDURANCE:


  • Walk more- take your dog or kids for a walk, us a pedometer and measure your steps, strive for 10,000/day
  • Stand more- refuse to sit unless 100% necessary, try a standing work station
  • Do more cleaning- spring cleaning time of the year! organize, give away, sell unused items
  • Get out in nature- hike or bike on trials near your home, do some landscaping, outdoor planting, etc…
  • Join a running club or sign up for race, it will give you the motivation to hit the pavement.  BTW- running outside is so much more effective than on a treadmill, try it!!
  • Buy a heart rate monitor and USE IT!! Get in your aerobic zone and strive to stay there for 20, 30, 40, 50 or even 60 mins!! You’ll be amazed at how quickly your heart will get stronger and how fast your endurance improves!

28 Days of Christmas: Day 4

Good Morning!! It’s Day 4 and another scheduled day OFF for  workouts.  Tomorrow will be another LEG workout!!  PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND…what you eat today and do today will affect how effective your leg workout will be.  Make sure you eat good nutrients including good carbs to fuel  your body to lift powerfully tomorrow!!  NUTRITION is very key if you want to have effective workouts.

Let’s have a quick review of our start to the 28 days of XMAS~

Day 1- LEGS/ABS; Day 2- Uppper Body/ABS and INTERVALS; Day 3- OFF

Day 4- OFF (AGAIN?)

…Now let’s have a little “chat” about this extra day off.  I am at a point in my fitness to where 1 day off in a row is plenty for me to recover.  For example today I have good energy, I am not sore and I am chomping at the bit to do a workout.  I also know that I am very capable of working out 3 days in a row and will be fine to hit it hard until my next off day on Day 7 of our contest.  Basically what I am saying is that I will be working out today!  I don’t need the extra day off~ so I am going to go for a run.

You can feel free to do the same if you’d like…BUT know that if you are still  trying to recover from your day 1 & 2 workouts or if you don’t think you can handle 3 days of workouts in a row or if you simple don’t have the time, energy or desire to workout today, DON’t feel any pressure to workout!!  Working out more than the 4 days/week is “BONUS” and totally up to you.  I am confident that the 4 workouts/ week I’ve laid out for you will get you GRAND results and are DO-ABLE during this BUSY time of year!!!

Look at that Body!

Body, body, body!! Organs, joints, muscles, blood, nerves, dna, skin, hair, etc… Bodies are complicated! With so many moving parts and systems, how can we be expected to take care of it all?? Well we can’t. That’s why we AGE, That’s why we get Injured and that’s why we get Sick. It’s basically impossible to keep our bodies in mint condition. Yet I REFUSE to use that fact as an EXCUSE. I will not stop striving to take care of my body. And Actually as each year passes and science progresses I gain more confidence that I can slow down the aging process with my efforts.

The word “body” conjures up the visual aspects of a persons physique- “Oh wow!! look at her BODY!”, but Body is so much deeper than appearance. I teach that every step you take towards a healthly lifestyle l change your body on the “CELLULAR” level.: drinking water, eating nutrient dense foods, every rep or each second of effort in your workouts, taking supplements, etc.. affect your CELLS. Every part of your body is made up of cells. Each cell has components to it that need nutrients from your food, the also need oxygen, and they also need to get rid of toxins…all of which are helped by your healthy lifestyle efforts. The more consistent you are with your effort the better every single cell in your body performs. The better they perform directly affects how much AGING of your body occurs!

It’s not VAIN to take care of your body. It’s WISE! Many diseases, surgeries, medical conditions, prescription drugs and doctor visits could be eliminated by simply taking care of our bodies. PREVENTION works! I don’t expect everyone in the world to have the same passion for their body as I do. I am hard wired and blessed by God with a passion for Bodies! However every person has a responsibility to themselves, to their families and to society to do their best to learn the basics of nutrition and fitness so that they can keep their body healthy. And that’s why I love teaching others basic, simple tips for staying healthy. I believe that if of us took a slightly higher level of responsibilty for our personal health we could quickly reduce the incidence of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer in our socitey. Let”s do it!! Let’s strive to learn more and integrate more FIT Tips into our lives.

I’ve been asking this myself a lot…I’d love to get to the point in my own maturity to where each moment of my life SOWS into something for the future.

The best laid plans to up in SMOKE!

WOW~~~!!!!! isn’t it fun to have excitement to get buff for the spring?!!
I sure am feeling the vibe!!
I am “Boosting” at the moment and I thought I’d share a few items on how I approach my boosting these days:
I prep myself for my “bad days” (19-22) during my last few days of buffing. I will go ahead and write to do lists ahead of time, prepare my workout plan, get supplements organized, get food shopping done, make appointments and be sure to shave, lol!  All of that prep helps me get through the crazy distracted days that I often encounter on c-days 19-22.
2- REST-
I spend more time reading, watching movies, just sitting, relaxing, snuggling, hibernating, and laying down in general during boosting. I try to take my time, so I don’t find myself in a tizzy. Or being a “spaz”…I just focus on being more mellow and rest driven.
I focus on building up my body and mind, allowing myself to repair and build towards the future. I like to build knowledge during this time…read and research. I like to build my PMA…I do exercises like Focus on Solutions, to keep my focus where it needs to be. I love reading books that build up my faith, my attitude or my business! I focus my workouts on BUILDING Muscle and my diet on BUILDING up nutrients that will positively affect my body forever!!
Tomorrow for example is going to be a GREAT day!
I have my supplements for the day ready to take (in my handy HT dispenser)
I have a POA placed in my outlook
I have food prepped and ready to eat in the frig
I have a book to read- The making of a leader by Joyce Meyer
I have my twins home tomorrow to snuggle with during an afternoon nap
I have a great workout planned along with a relaxing time in the tanning bed
Boosting can be an amazing time of the month~ God made women special for a reason~ embrace your woman-ness!!

UPDATE~~ The best laid plans go up in SMOKE!

I was so organized about today…but did it matter – NOPE – because pretty much all my plans went up in smoke!  BUT NOT TO WORRY~ the super adjuster known as Miss “Fly by the SEAT of her PANTS” BERGER….was able to remain calm and still get’er done!!


Why? did I have to adjust?

1- One of my girls was sick…poor girl, yet again for the 5th day in a row was just not right…so I made a call to the pediatrician’s office and spent hours due to that whole process

2- Gramma was flying into town today and I was the one who opted for the “job” to pick her up from the airport another HOUR I didn’t plan. BUT it was great to see her and have here here!!

3- PIANO Lessons~ I forgot about these until today….is it really Thursday again already? So another hour GONE!


As I said despite it all, I got in a good workout and a GREAT day of  eating!!  I am ON FIRE and roaring ready to get my BBB!!

My workout was as follows- intervals on the treddy~ it was hard and good…and I forced myself to stay on the machine until it read 3.1 miles~

AND I am going to head out to do SQUATS in my garage after I get the kids to bed and do a 5 min warm up on the bike.

I am going to shoot for a longer streak of doing 3 sets of squats daily…a couple of months ago I made it 14 days straight and my booty was showing the positive effects~ YEEHAAWW!

Do you love yourself?
Are you in love with yourself? You need be! You have to realize that it is vital for you to treat yourself with love and respect. And that includes, feeding your body the NUTRIENTS it needs to function and allowing yourself to have proper exercise and REST!
As a mother finding the right balance is so hard, we are pulled in so many different directions. BUT I strongly believe all aspects of our lives will be BETTER and more Productive if we choose to take care of our health. Which means giving yourself permission to take an 30-60 mins a day to dedicate to your fitness, allowing yourself time to shop, cook/create and eat healthy meals. AND take time to beautify yourself…shower, dress nicely, fix your hair and wear make up! You will feel better, be more confident and your family will love you for it!!
I am going to love myself and give myself permission to go to the gym/workout, to shower and to eat well even when “I don’t have time”…
~ This weekend was nice and relaxing…I am finally over being SORE!! I worked out on Saturday- lifted chest, tri’s and ran for 12 mins–which was a struggle due to my ULTRA sore hammies…then stayed busy cleaning, taking a trip to SAMS and watching movies (American Gangster -A, SpiderMan 3 -C, and The Assassination of Jessie James -B). OH and I slept in until 10am yesterday!! It was crazy…so we missed church, which stinks because I love church!!And now after I finish this blog, I am headed out into the beautiful weather for a run! It is about 60 here~ perfect temp for a good run!!
