Birthday Success

Gracie’s 13th bday was a fun success. Her Aunt extended an invite to do a “SURPRISE” party at her house for her with a special guest of honor all the way from MN, Grandma Mary!

It was a difficult task to get Gracie to the event due to the fact she wanted to SHOP, lol!  But I prevailed and got her there for the lunch surprise!

 

The day ended up feeling very long for all of us– I couldn’t believe how exhausted I was by just 5 pm!

Anyhow, It was a day off for me.

Today, the fun continues as we still have b-day shopping to do today.

 

POA: a basic 3 days split with for a 6 days a week workout plan. I’m going to be adding in ABS daily and try to add in extra biking (fasted) in the mornings

I had a really good workout day: 25 mins on the bike in the morning and then a leg workout at about 4pm
Warm up body-weight stuff
Dead lifts
95x10x2sets
Paired with laying side leg raises
20 reps each leg 2sets
Squats
My sets were 45×20 warm up, 135×10, 155×10 (seen here), 175×6, 155×10, 135×10
paired with weighted crunches on ball (15#DB)2sets
and some knee ups
then I did Bulgarians
holding 10# platesx10 reps; Holding 15#DB’s x10 reps
Plus did hip ups, knee extensions, around the wolds

Today is day 30 of our contest! amazing, just a dozen days to go…

So the “Date” with my son was a success! We went shopping and he got several shirts and 3 pairs of pants– unreal that he’s a size 32×34! Big little man!

We also went out to eat at TLC for our favorites Spicy Cesar salad and MR Smoked Sirloin- YUMMY! And his hair cut turned out really nice too!

AND I even got in a stellar workout after it. Ran hills, my best run of the month for sure and then lifted chest.

6 Daily Goals– that will be topics in my daily journal

  1. Cycle day- 3 feeling much better today!
  2. Weight- 132.0 today.  Nice to see it going back down…expecting an under 130 weigh in any day now!  I feel so much leaner, I’m getting excited to take measurements and my AFTER pics for the contest. 2 more weeks!!
  3. Sexy To do’s-  SEXY Saturday, so spending some extra time with DH is a must.  Also, I will get some more time OUTSIDE in today. That always makes me feel more sexy.
  4. Workout- bike and legs
  5. Meal POA- Salad for lunch; Chicken with sweet tater salad for Lupper; Pot roast for Supper
  6. Sexy Actions- I think I’ll paint my nails today! plus adding in make up will be a must. Extra HUGS and Kisses and kind words to HUBBY!

Today was a TIME WARP day, lol! I slept in this morning and ever since have been on the GO! GO! GO!! Still feeling pretty good for cycle day 23…still holding steady during my boosting at 132.2 even after a “FAILED” day of eating yesterday. Went out for lunch with hubby, had nachos at the game and then an ice cream cone afterwards?? WHAT was that about?? Anyhow today was a new day and I’ve done better!

 

Today’s SEXY POST….

I’m going to push into some ENERGIZERS this weekend. Maybe even get DH to go on a DATE with me?  He’s all about being on the farm now that hunting season is on so that may be harder than you’d think, lol!
I just completed my run of intervals that I did AFTER my chest/tricep lifting workout.  I didn’t get in my fasted bike this am, due to sleeping in, but I will tomorrow. Every day I don’t do it, I now regret it.  Maybe it’s becoming a habit?
Have I ever told you that I love weights? LOL!

Quickie

Today’s been a great day. Perfect for this time of the month. Kinda laid back, low stress, lunch with the hubby and now off to a football game!

I’ve even  got a lot of work accomplished today!

For workouts I got in my morning bike and just finished a super quick back/shoulder/biceps circuit of about 20 mins worth of lifting.  Not what I had planned, but in a time crunch!  At least I did something!!

It went well

Sorry to have not blogged yesterday, it was a busy one.  Had my “Insulin and Thyroid” class/seminar last night at 5:15 so it consumed my entire day!  I have not taught a class on the topic previously so there was a lot of unknowns going in and a lot of prep that I had to do to be ready.  Overall there were about 20 people in the class, the average age of the class was 60…amazing how different the clientele is at a Dr’s office than in a gym, lol!

The speech went smoothly, next time I’ll be sure to integrate a bit more interaction and change some of the emphasis of what we discussed.  I tried to leave the audience with the message “YOU NEED TO CONTROL Blood sugars and your insulin! and YOU NEED TO BE YOUR ADVOCATE FOR YOUR HEALTH!”

Thanks so much for all your support and well wishes for the event, it means the world to me that you cheer me on!!

The more interesting part of last night was how awesome it was to see the growth of Dr. Tammy’s program “Project Wellness” and getting to meet some of the new people she’s brought on board to help with her business. It’s very inspiring to see all the people she’s helping.

  • Got my business assessed and got my new tabs
  • PLUS, got some other important paperwork ALMOST DONE!! such a load off!
  • Uploaded videos of Football Game and Seminar, working on getting those posted!
  • Up NEXT…Upper body workout and maybe some running?? Not sure how much energy I have.

ABS/BOOTY!!

PLUS: It’s SUPER HERO Saturday and your challenged to Drink some TEA today

SUPERHERO Saturday is all about you doing EXTRA ORDINARY things today– I love getting in the mood with a super hero shirt, thinking about how cool it would be to have a super power and taking action towards being physically strong like a super hero.

Why TEA? Well, it’s a fun way to get some nutrients, to detox, to get a bit of caffeine, and to spice up your water intake

 

My Day 2 didn’t go exactly as planned….I only managed the 11 minute Lower Body SlimChick Band workout.  I was too busy having outdoor adventures to even change into my workout duds.

 

 

I also failed to eat cukes or lettuce   I did get in some carrots and green beans though!  I’ll eat a cucumber salad today for lunch and I plan to make some ICE TEA to drink while I sunbath a bit today. It’s a GORGEOUS day here today!!

 

I will do the SlimChick ABS/Booty workout today PLUS I’ll get in my missed leg lifting to boot.  I may also hit the trail for a run SINCE I am a SUPERHERO!! …I plan to mow it today first though. The grass is getting so long!

 

I’m off to be a superhero!!

NOW on to my recap for day 1.  I was in a hormone trance all day yesterday and the day before, lol! I feel like I am snapping out of it today on cycle day 26, yay!!

I spent almost the whole day “nesting”…I cleaned up and reorganized my “office” area.  Moving my computer to the opposite side of the room so that I can video tape on a clean wall.  I still have a bunch of papers to get through, but it’s looking a million times better already!

I ate eggs for breakfast, then tuna/avacado/egg salad with nuts and celery for a late lunch and finally started my workout at about 6pm.

I did the upper body purple band workout for a nice warm up– the push ups were tough! And then I added in some heavier bench press 3 sets of 6-8 reps at 105#. It was a big time win for me and my shoulder!! I didn’t have much pain and I think it can handle a “real” upper body workout finally! YAY!! I also did some rows, abs and bicep curls.

Next I hit the trail for longer hills.  4 2min long hills with a jog back to the start between.  They were tough, but I felt really good!!

I was also very thankful yesterday–for my family, my home, for prayer, for the TV show VIKINGS and for ENVY. YES, Envy– good envy is very helpful toward us accomplishing goals in life: READ THIS ARTICLE

My workout plan for today is to do the boosting lower body purple band workout for my warm up, then SQUAT, Do DEADs and LUNGES plus knee extensions and extra ab/booty work!  I will also be hiking around on our land. Travis and I are harvesting some black walnut wood

LOVE YOU BUNCHES

Busier than ever!  How does that happen??? I love being busy, but seriously I need my Rally Room time!

Here’s our contest post for today~

I certainly am fired up for the FINISH of this contest. I realized last night that I’ve worked out EVERY DAY in April, and I’m not even trying to!! It’s been a good streak.  NOW I’m tempted to shoot for doing it ALL THE DAYS of APRIL?  I’ve successfully completed a couple challenges like this in past years (EVERY DAY IN MAY), so maybe I should just GO FOR IT?~!

Anyhow, as I said I am BUSY and BEHIND on so many projects it’s killing me! I hate feeling like I’m not living up to expectations (mostly MY EXPECTATIONS).  I need to have a very productive next 2 weeks!

Yesterday I ended up having lunch with my MIL and SIL, then had a dentist appt, then a chiro appt, then I had to buy stuff for my bunny, got home with some food for the kids, then got in my leg workout prior to heading out of town to the twins’ softball game.  Finally got home at 9:30 to do another round of “feedings” then finally  TUCK INs and then some alone time with the hubs.

I was EXHAUSTED and kinda in pain after the crazy day!  My teeth hurt, my legs hurt, and body hurt from my chiropractic adjustment– He really cranked on my back this time!

My leg workout was the first “real” one I’ve done since my neck went out 2 weeks ago- I’ve been focusing on learning how to place the bar in a bit of a better/lower position on my back during squatting. Even old dogs need to learn new tricks at times!!

Squats- 45×10, 95×10, 135x10x2sets Deads- 45×20, 95×15, 95×20– kept this kinda light just to be safe Knee Extensions- 5 sets of these- some singles and some together…pretty heavy LUNGES!!: between sets I did various varieties for well over 100 total- side lunges, box lunges, jumping lunges (HOLY HARD!), foward barbell lunges, low sliding side to side lunges

I also did some ABS in there…overall a good workout, expecting an even better one in a couple days!!

I’m on the attack again with another BUSY day in store!!

Got my TO Do list written and am planning to hammer it out before I have to go to town again today for an orthodontist appt and DATE with my DD in celebration of her ALL “A” report card!

My weight is back up a tish to 128, but very good considering it’s HORMONE TIME! Cycle day 24 today

I’m going to end this now in order to take some time to catch up with all the AMAZING BLOGS from my SWEET BUFFSISTERS here!! LOVE YOU BUNCHES

New Contest!!

The NEW Team BuffMother contest will be starting on April 23rd….  The main place that the contest info will be promoted is on my blog on www.buffmother.com I’ll be sending out more info this week- I’ve decided it will be a 7 week contest– The first week will be about “getting ready” and the remaining 6 will be all about kicking tail!!

Any ideas on what to call it??

Yesterday was great…I spent the whole day with my Buddy TRAVIS!! I got dolled up– Here’s a couple pics:

and then We went shopping (for him), had a steak lunch and then come home to build a fire.

Travis started the fire with his “Flame Thrower”

I didn’t get my run in but, “C’est la vie!!”…I was happy to skip it to spend time with my love!

The kids are STOKED for EASTER tomorrow– and I am too…just have to go buy the basket stuffers today.

It’s rainy here–which is fine, cuz I have work to complete on the computer– so I’ll see you later!!

Workin’ Wednesday

My Wednesday was spent on the MOVE– working hard on mowing, fertilizing, weeding, moving, cleaning, sorting, and then RUNNING!!  I am very proud of myself for getting in my second run of  the week.

Today I was down to 128.6…the first time I’ve seen 128 in a few weeks, YAY!! Staying active works and running works!  Now if I can keep losing a pound a week for April, I’ll be very happy to have my weight come in at about 125 for the WArrior DASH! It’s so much easier to run a bit lighter!!

Tuesday- I didn’t get a leg workout in, instead Gunner and I played tennis.  So Legs are on tap for today!

I have to go unload my van, get some boxes unpacked and eat lunch so I’m fueld for my workout at 3!
