SSS Week #5 Mini Challenge- Workout With Someone!!

HI GIRLS!!
Well this is week #5 already in the SSS contest~ AND so many of you are really kicking tail… This week we have a bottle of REGEN PM (sleep recovery supplement) to give away to whoever posts the most about “workout buddies”– use tag #buffmother and #workoutbuddy

 

Our mini challenge for the week  to “workout with someone” this week. Fitness is a fun, healthy activity for you to enjoy with friends, family, husbands, kids, new acquaintances, etc….
I know many of you regularly workout with partners, but many of us often go it alone.  WELL this week I challenge all of you in the SSS to workout with someone at least once this week!!!

Diet HARD!! "S6" ~Day 10

The plan is to DIET HARD!

 

HI Girls!!…well I made it through another boosting phase!!! Today was the last day~ WHEW!!! I am so excited to be buffing again!!!
The Plan is to DIET HARD!! I haven’t been this serious about cutting down/leaning up in a long time! I’ve been at a comfortable nice weight for the past year or two and haven’t had an BIG reason to diet. I actually wouldn’t “have to” right now…but I want to feel super confident and thin for my birthday!!

So here is my POA for this first week of buffing:
**DIET** Each day get in my protein and greens– LOWer carbs!! follow 5-3-3-3 portions and tons of water!**

W-football practice
Th-LEGS!! hard and abs too
F- Back, Sh, Bi, run
Sa-football game in Kansas City
Su-hike with the family

HERE’s a quick Q & A on DIET-

Question #1. How do you deal with cravings for junk foods, sweets and salty food? I can stay on a diet for maybe a few weeks but I eventually get really bad cravings and binge on snacks and fast foods.

Michelle’s Answer: My answer is to not be quite so strict.  I allow myself a daily treat to head off future binges.

Question #2. I’m trying to create a healthy shopping list to stick with. What are some of the main foods I should include to maintain a lean and muscular physique?

Michelle’s Answer: Protein and Greens: Eggs, chicken, turkey, hamburger, tuna, salmon, whey protein, beef jerky, romaine lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, celery, broccoli, asparagus, green beans

Question #3. I’m about 35 pounds over weight. I have never started an exercise program and really don’t know where to start. What tips can you give me to get started on the right track?

Michelle’s Answer: Just start out shooting to build the habit of activity and exercise.  Shoot for doing “something” 3 days a week.  Once you have that a solid habit, increase your frequency and intensity.  Always remember that Challenge=Change.

Question #4. I tend to eat out most of the time and really don’t know what healthy foods to order from the menu. What tips do you recommend for eating out at restaurants to make sure my diet will not suffer?

Michelle’s Answer: Choose meat first…stay away from tons of rice, pasta, sauces etc.  and always have a good green salad first…Also say no to BREAD.

 

Let’s plan on having a productive finish to the week~ I am totally going to be focused on my workouts and diet!! it will be FUN!!!

M- Tia and Layla’s Birthday!!! warm up good for 10 mins, then try to run for at least 5mins- then do Legs– we’ll also probably go Bowling
T-back, shoulders, bi’s, abs and swimming– yes, I am trying to learn to swim
W-Chest, tri, ABS, run
Th-LEGS!! hard and abs too
F- Back, Sh, Bi, run and maybe swim with the kids??
Sa-Valentine’s day???— no plans yet—Chest, tris, ABS and intervals
Su-maybe go swim with kids?

BTW~ I didn’t workout today. Sunday workouts are always *bonus*, so I don’t feel bad for not getting it done today~ plus it was my last day of boosting…I needed to rest up, lol!

Well, I gotta roll…I have more b-day prep to do and more work to get done before tomorrow.

Let’s plan on having a GREAT week~ I am totally going to be focused on my workouts and diet!! it will be FUN!!!

Woke up a new woman!

HI Girls!!
I feel like I lost a day of my life, lol!! Yesterday early in the morning (3am’ish) I woke up ILL~ with tummy flu and a fever! All day I was a zombie and drank an entire bottle of PEPTO~ BUT last night I slept all night uninterrupted and woke up a NEW WOMAN!!! I feel almost 100%~ a little bit if my tummy ache is still present, but that’s no biggie cuz the rest of me feels great!!!

I was so sad yesterday that I had to miss my run …but I new it wasn’t a smart idea– so the even day running streak ends for this month. :( I’ll start a new streak though either today or tomorrow! It all depends on if I decide to lift legs today or tomorrow :)

My dream today revolves around my Spirit~ I dream of walking in the fruit of the Spirit at all times (even during PMS, lol).. Love, JOY, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness and Self-Control. I seem to struggle most at staying KIND, Patient and Gentle with those I LOVE most. I suppose with family I expect so much of them and I live so close with them that I can get a little mean sometimes. I really don’t like that about myself… AND I know I can improve~ so my dream is to be an angel at all times.

HI girls!!
I had a GREAT weekend~ it was Gunner’s b-day on Saturday!! and GUESS what?? I got a new VAN!! YEAH!! so my dream came true~
It is a 2005 Nissan Quest…that’s loaded with leather, automatic everything, a dvd player and low miles to boot. We are soooo excited!!! I’ll post pics soon.

I also had some good workouts- Saturday I lifted chest, tri’s and bi’s in my garage and then yesterday I had a good 21 min run on the treddy. My even day running streak is still going STRONG!

here is a recap of last week’s workouts:
M-super tiny chest workout and ran on treddy
T-lift legs and stairmill
W-ran on treddy
Th-off
F-ran outside with 4 sprints
S-lift chest tri’s/bi’s
Sun- run on treddy 21min=3 miles, abs and stretching at home

This week I plan to lift more often and at least couple of those times with my DH!! and keep up with my even day runs:
M- legs
T- run outside if possible
W- back, sh, bi
T- chest tri’s, run
F- legs
Sa-run
Su-?

My B-day ~ recap & super busy Sunday!

Hi Girls!
Well my b-day started off with a my first speeding ticket ever!

here is the story again for those of you who missed it: My day started off great …I woke up to many B-day greetings~ talked to Julie a bit the decided to go for a treat–WE (my 4 kids and I) then headed to Krispy Creme to get some treats and coffee. We were enjoying the sun shining, looking at the airplanes and the horses…and they started singing Happy B-day to me!! It was GREAT!! then I looked up and had a cop with flashing lights behind me!! The cop had no mercy on me despite the fact that it was my b-day, the road being an obvious speed trap, the fact that I’ve never had a ticketin my life and not even the fact my speedometer is busted. HE STILL gave me a ticket! So Happy B-day to me– my first ticket!So I expect the rest of the day to be wonderful! lol

But It went better from there~ My son had a Baseball Tourney all day~ so we were at the fields, all day~ I wasn’t too happy to spend my B-day there with 3 girls, but it turned out GREAT!
His team won!!!
YAY~!!
then on the ride home Julie called and told me she won!!!  Double YAY!~!!  What an awesome end to the day!!

So when I got home I had 2 mini CCL (as Kim says- cold coors lights) and spent some time dancing to Britney Sprears, lol!
I also did a handstand against the wall…my first one in forever!  It was great so I held it for 45 seconds…I also did 2 bridges– I want to get more gymnastic again, lol!!
But this morning I wish I hadn’t!  My neck is OUT and has been killing me all day!  I guess I am old after all!

No workout for me today, but I did do a good leg workout yesterday and about 45 mins of dancing last night, hehe!!

I’ve been very busy today: working, going to wal-mart, backing B-day cupcakes, laundry, cleaning, etc….  I have more to do, plus get my kiddos to bed– the older 2 still have school for 4 more days and the twins will be at the sitters tomorrow…so I should be able to get tons done then!!

p.s.  Almost forgot to mention my VALUE~ I value hard work…I believe that hard work always provides rewards.  If not monetary, in a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment that nothing else can provide.  When I work hard or see another working hard it is so inspirational!  Working hard is needed if we expect to see change in our lives…Challenge (working hard)= Change!
