My Nostalgic post for today is about being “Miss Hawaiian Tropic FARGO, ND” twice… A free trip to Hawaii for DH and I in 1995 and again in 1997!! Both trips were a blast and laid the foundation for my current profession. 
I didn’t end up doing my leg workout last night, too tired and lazy. Hormones are starting to ramp up! Boosting is ON!
Instead of a POA, I’m going to post my workout goals for the week:
5 lifting workouts (at least 2 leg days); 4 fasted biking days (at least 20mins each); 3 runs (a long, a treadmill intervals and a hills run)

Lost a day?

Hey ya, feels like I lost a day somewhere this week??

Not sure how it’s already Friday, but I’ll take it…Friday’s Rock!

This one is extra nice because it’s sunny and warm and I get to have a special Date with my son. He’s got a hair appt at 4:30 and we are going to shop a bit too. He’s grown so big that he’s got hardly any of his own clothes to wear….been sharing with his Dad.

 

Okay, so on Thursday night I did a good leg workout with some SEXY dancing!

I was on the “road” yesterday. I had a business meeting, my HAIR APPT!! (yay) and then finished up the day doing some errands for “work”.  I say “work” because as you know I have a DREAM JOB!! I love being BUFFMOTHER, my work is very enjoyable, but it’s still work, lol!

 

Okay, here’s a pic of my hair. It’s quite a bit darker, but it will lighten up some as I wash it over the next few days.  I think I like the change– It’s what I wanted, more NATURAL!

  4. Workout: Chest/Tri’s and run– can’t wait to do this outside today!
  5. Meal POA : Not a full plan yet…Protein shake with a banana in it after run … then go out to eat with Gunner later. Put the pot roast in the crock pot for dinner!!
  6. Sexy Actions- I will spend some extra time with DH tonight.  Maybe give him a back rub

With the theme of revisiting success I found this helpful post about the 6 E’s of Success~

I’m continually learning and striving to be better…I’ve also had the pleasure of being able to coach MANY other women towards their success.

Here are The 6 E’s for Success ~as I see them!

 

  1. Expect
  2. Educate
  3. Engage
  4. Empower
  5. Edify
  6. Encourage

Let me expand on them a bit for you~ The 6 E’s for Success

 

  1. Expect~ Prior to success happening in any area of our life we must set our EXPECTATIONS for success.  I expect that each and every person I encounter is on a journey toward success. They have untapped potential and they have a HUGE mission that they are destined to accomplish.  I believe in those expectations often more times than that person does. I expect excellence, I expect effort, I expect change, I expect blessing, I expect challenge (fire is needed to sharpen iron), I expect courageous behavior, I expect supernatural energy, etc… In order to succeed you must raise your EXPECTATIONS above a mediocre standard.  Shoot for the STARS! Just this week during my first deer hunting in 16 years my husband mentioned that we must go into each hunt with the “EXPECTATION” of seeing a huge buck. That mindset will carry over into our preparations, our actions during the hunt and ultimate lead to the success or failure of our experience.  EXPECT the Best~ and BELIEVE it’s possible for you to do the impossible!
  2. Educate- I believe we were made for continual learning.  Constantly striving increase your knowledge base especially about things that impact your life and your goals in life is God’s plan for us~ we have insane brains that need to be used!  I don’t expect everyone to have as much passion as I do for certain topics (fitness, diet, supplements, sports, etc&hellip, and so I take it upon myself to help EDUCATE others in an interesting yet uncomplicated manner. I am a teacher and love teaching others what I KNOW~ but you each of us need to embrace the truth that learning doesn’t happen by OSMOSIS.  It’s our responsibility to educate ourselves through reading, listening, observing, trying, doing and at times failing.  We can’t sit around and wait for someone else to do it for you…you need to be your own self advocate.  Education is not only book learning…it’s putting what you learn into action. Dig into every piece of knowledge you can about the topics that impact you and your goals. Learning takes TIME, effort and dedication; Be Patient with it, there is NO expert born overnight.  In the book “Outliers” by Malcom Gladwell, he spoke about the fact that 10,000 hours of TIME was needed for someone to become a master at something.  Don’t expect to be an expert overnight. But instead look to the help of “EXPERTS” to educate you…Strive to learn from the best!
  3. Engage- People are our greatest resource.  Engaging with others who are successful or at least passionate about similar goals is vital to success. You can learn tons about how they’ve found success, creative ideas for implementation of ideas, camaraderie (mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together), motivation and healthy competition by ENGAGING with others.  God truly populated this earth and created us for relationship. ENGAGING with others exponentially increases synergy. Synergy is theenergy that we get from working with others towards common goals.  It rocks!  Together Everyone Accomplishes More! TEAM!
  4. Empower- This goes hand in hand with the first 3 e’s.  You will become EMPOWERED with the confidence, belief and knowledge about how to attain your goals from setting high expectations, educating yourself and by engaging with others who have accomplished similar goals.  Also, small successes lead to becoming empowered.  One good choice, One more discovery, one more confidence boost, one more day of having faith, etc…all build the power of your focus and EMPOWER you toward more success.  Other things also empower you…are your time with GOD.  God is the God of Power, believing that He’s got good blessings in store for you.  Believing in His Unconditional LOVE for you will allow you to operate in a new found confidence that is AMAZING!  Feeling secure in your mission on the earth and God’s plan for you to PROSPER is very empowering.   Empowerment also comes from ANGER…getting a “REVENGE” attitude at times causes us to really be stronger than we ever imagined.  RAW anger at your current status in life can help you feel the power you need to take action towards your goals.  Empowerment creates momentum in your life towards action.  Momentum can roll either direction– towards your goals or away…Get EMPOWERED with a momentum that brings success!!
  5. Edify-The most successful people in the world NEVER got there on their own.  Those who pretend to have attained greatness without the help of others are living a lie. To be a true success in anything you had others there to assist you.  Be sure to EDIFY their participation as you find success.  Edifying others is a hard skill to learn and often difficult because it takes effort, action and a selfless attitude.  Giving credit to others who help you, support you, enable you, encourage you, teach you and inspire you are vital to true success!  Edification of others shows that you are respectful and honorable…both qualities that attract others who want to help you become even more successful.  Edification is different than encouragement or even thankfulness.  It is an unsolicited public acknowledgement of others contributions to your success.

  6. Encourage-It’s no secret that I feel the BEST way to stay motivated and excited towards your own goals is to ENCOURAGE others towards theirs.  It’s magic how much accountability encouraging others creates within yourself.  I’ve been asked countless times on how I stay motivated to stay in shape year after year. Let me tell you one thing, It’s not that I get ENCOURAGED to keep at it more than the average person.  It is instead that I GIVE OUT way more encouragement to others than the average person.  Motivation comes from deep within our soul, the power of ENCOURAGING another toward similar goals makes us want to rise higher to be a shining example for them.  We glean from their excitement and their accomplishments towards their personal success.

I know I need to be continually reminded to PRACTICE these 6 E’s for Success!

I plan to keep this list at the forefront of my mind in 2014 and I plan to ACT out EACH of the 6 E’s on toward BIG SUCCESSES!!  I pray that you do too!! We can change the world for good!!

Summer Stuff & Diet Talk

Its almost 9:30 and all my kids are still asleep…crazy summer vacation!  Anyhow…We have lots of stuff on our TO DO list for the summer yet I think my kids may just sleep through the entire thing!

Why did you enter the SSS contest by BuffMother?

I entered the SSS contest for 2 main reasons.  First, I want to win.  I’ve discovered through my time in the Rally Room that I am extremely motivated by contests. I find that I am challenged by seeing what others are doing to accomplish their goals.  In addition, the desire to finish well and accomplish my own goals is an overwhelming motivator for me.  Second, I entered the contest so that I could accomplish super-star success.  I want to get better and be the best that I can be, whether I win or not.  I feel like if I win, that’s super.  However, if I don’t win, I have learned and improved from trying my best.

What tactics did you use to stay focused and engaged for the entire 70 days?

I made a habit of blogging and commenting as often as I could.  I know I missed days here and there, but I aimed for being active daily in the Rally Room.  I also tried to set attainable goals for myself as well as using the weekly mini-challenges to start new and better habits.  Third, I made up a chart that I could use to easily record and track my food, workouts, supplements, cycle days, and hormones all in one place.  The chart helps me see how I’m progressing and how food and hormones play into my progress.
How do you feel about your success?

One of my goals was to reduce my body fat.  I used a hand held body fat calculator at my gym and was pleased to see that it said that my body fat was down to %17.3.  A year ago, it was %22.  It’s not a tremendous drop, but it did go down.  My other goal was to get more definition in my arms and legs and stomach.  While my legs don’t show too much change, my improvements are showing on my upper body.  I’m excited to see my fat loss continue to progress to my lower body.
What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to attain your goals?

I’ve struggled with stress and sickness during this contest.  Both me and my family have had multiple sicknesses continually repeating and recurring in our household.  I’ve also had tremendous stress.  I’ve had a huge ordeal with my dad that our family has been dealing with.  He is a difficult person and seems to thrive on attacking and emotionally destroying his loved ones.  In addition, homeschooling has been tough this year.  The contest started at the beginning of the school year and the stress of getting into the routine has been difficult.
What would you like to tell the world about BuffMother ?

I tell my friends all the time about the wonders of hormonal timing.  Women don’t realize how simple it really is to reach their goals when they understand how to work with their hormones instead of against them.  The more in-tune I am with how my body responds to my hormones and to certain foods, the more I can succeed at reaching my goals.  I will never go back to floundering in the physical and emotional defeat that comes from not understanding my female cycle.

1- REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be a member of the Team BuffMother! Rally Room and be “loyal” to our TEAM! www.therallyroom.com
  • You must have a strong desire to help inspire others along your journey, we do what we do to HELP others and give them HOPE!
  • You must be willing to be honest, open, positive and responsible throughout your training program.
  • You must be within 30 pounds of your goal contest weight to be eligible for this year’s team.
  • You must have a contest date set or at least be 80% sure of your target contest date. This training is targeted to those who’d like to compete within the next 3-12 months.
  • You must be private and keep private all the information shared within the training program. You will be asked to sign a non-disclosure and it is legally binding. The information you will be learning and utilizing is cutting edge and very unique to my Hormonal Timing training. I expect loyalty from the members of this exclusive training program.
  • You must be respectful of all opinions given regarding all issues, but ultimately I will be the HEAD trainer and I expect you to follow my advice over above any others.

2- DETAILS

  • You will get a detailed weight and cardio/interval training program, customized for you, your hormones, your situation and your body! I will be constantly “tweaking” it and coaching you through any adjustments we see fit along the way.
  • You will have a detailed photo analysis done and updated along the way…You will need to take several sets of photos in this training program.

  • We will use my Video Coaching site as a resource and area to house private “contest” training information.
  • We will use a the Rally Room as our accountability area and for our photos.

How long does it normally take to get contest ready?

This really depends on the person and situation. I like to train clients starting about 4-9 months in advance. That way we have a time to focus on ADDING muscle and then a couple more months to strip away the fat…. if a client has more than 10 pounds to lose we’d work on dieting hard and your workout consistency. Once you get within 10 pounds of your goal weight you would be 8-12 weeks from stage ready. So…how long it takes is really up to you and your commitment level.

When can I start actively training with the new plan? Would this be Feb 8?

The group will start on the 8th….However, I can’t start everyone at once but will do my best to get everyone “set up” within the first 3 weeks.From there we’ll keep adjusting as we go along. The level of support you’ll get from me is HUGE~ it’s a BIG commitment for both you and I. the cool thing is that you’ll get access immediately to the video coaching site and it houses tons of information including training programs, the success journal, the e-book, diets, etc…

If I end up not affording it I can cancel at any time?

Yes you can… the higher first month cost will pay for your first “6 week plan of attack” and all that goes into that on my end…then the monthly fee for the remainder of the time you are on the Competition training team gives you access to all the additional Competition training services- conference calls, updated diet and workout plans , coaching calls, additional information that will be posted in the private coaching area. I am in heaven today~ I finally got myself a new desktop and it ROCKS!!
It is so speedy and pretty am just LOVE IT!!!  I’ve been tinkering with it all night trying to get it set up with passwords etc…AND I can’t wait to use it tomorrow for my WORK!

Well believe it or not it was a snow day here.  NO SNOW, NOT even ice on the roads, but they called off school.  So all 4 of my kids plus DH were home today~ I am totally confused on WHAT day it is!  It felt like a Saturday for sure!

I am on fire the past 2 days for my workouts…I’ve got some major MOJO flowing in that area right now!! Probably something to do with the BEACH trip we want to take in about a month.  I have some damage control to do before I am ready to bear all in a bikini in front a people, lol!!  Did you know I probably own about 40+ bikinis yet I hardly ever wear them in public (like at a pool)…actually lonly about 5 times total in the last 8 years!!  and that count is NOT including contests So last evening at the gym I did legs hard

and a 15 min run

Then today I did back~
I timed my workout and in 30 mins I did the following back, bi, shoulder buffing style (paired circuits) workout

I ended up climbing 100 floors in 17:22…I used intervals easy mins at 6 and hard intervals at 8 or 9 and at 12 for about 30 seconds of the last one…killer!!!

Today I tried to run again, but it was a NO GO…I quite after running around the block once and 1 strider…my knee is still being stupid
So I came in the house and did the stairmaster
8 hard 1 min intervals at level 30: 1 min off at level 22
then I pumped out 10 pull ups (full extension and lift chest to bar)
did abs

I had planned on trying to do back today also, but it didn’t work out. That’s fine because I am beat and my back is sore from my DL’s yesterday.

Well I am off to CHILL in bed and watch some TV.

BIG NEWS For TEAM BUFFMOTHER!!! March 02, 2006


HI! All!! Last night I made a big announcement to TEAM BuffMother!! Our very own *Women’s Only* membership area, The Rally Room, is now open. Here is the note I posted in our Yahoo Group:

I am sure you are well aware of the difficulty we are having as a TEAM in keeping up with all the excitement and growth on the Yahoo! Group. I am very pleased that in less than 12 months, at 1650 members we have outgrown the Yahoo!Group!!! In order to make Team Buffmother Awesome and take it to the next level, we now need to transition to the Team BuffMother! Rally Room :

The problems we currently face on the Yahoo! group:

* Public- everyone in the world can see our posts and pictures
* Safety issues, nasty men bothering the TEAM members
* Confusing- who is who, names to faces, progress, background, finding common ground etc
* No organization to posts
* Too many posts to possibly keep up with
* Problems with the chat system
* Login problems with Yahoo
* Annoying advertising
* Message posting problems, late and out of order

Exciting features of the Rally Room :

* Private- only the members of the TEAM will have access to our pictures, information and posts. ALSO, a private area will enable me to share “secret” training and diet information with the TEAM. I have limited this information to paying clients up to this point.
* Women only- This will be easier to monitor than on the Yahoo! Group, it will be much easier to keep men out.
* More organized, easier to use- There is a good forum, that is organized by topics and the entire area is laid out for ease of use
* Each member can have their personal blog, photo gallery and profile- this will be fun because we all can keep track of our journeys and our friend’s journeys so much easier.
* I will have an extended gallery that will include short video segments detailing lifts, techniques tips and other helpful information for BuffMothers. This is going to be a great teaching tool and resource area. I plan to do segments called “four week focus” on different body parts, eating plans, hormonal timing, housework fitness, supplements, etc..
* Chat- this area has it’s own easy to use chat system so chatting will be more fun and frequent.
* I will also be able to HELP all the members easier, since I will be able to read up on their progress, profile and see progress pictures all in one easy to access place

I have asked about 10 BuffMothers to TEST the Rally Room area in order to work out the kinks. They have faithfully been posting in for a while now, so there is already tons of fun stuff to read in the area. I want you to know that by your being part of TEAMBuffMother! you have the power to encouraged and inspired countless women to action!!! I appreciate you so much and know that I alone can’t reach every woman. I need the support and help from wonderful women like you!!
