Fit Skill Set

I am just sitting here watching the birds, the rain and the grass litterally growing in front of my eyes! Everything is suddenly GREEN!  I may even need to mow my lawn this weekend??

CRAZY how quickly seasons change!

Seasons in my life change quickly also! It seems like I am always “adjusting” to the new routine, the new circumstance, a new set of goals or interests.  Life is anything but STATIC!

I take pride in knowing that through all the change I’ve encountered over the past  almost 10 years I’ve manage to keep in shape through it all!!  I’ve been consistently FIT and overall HEALTHY!

I truly hope an pray that YOU too will learn the SKILL set needed to continually stay fit and healthy as you progress through the seasons of your life!  Keeping a constant awareness that your health is not automatic, you must fight for it.  It’s a battle!  You can’t let your guard down or you’ll lose ground…you must be on the offensive!

Yesterday, turned out to be a nice day– I spent the morning organizing things for our Gathering in VEGAS!! I can’t wait to hang out and get to know the TEAM BuffMother ladies who are going!! Our goal will be to simply have fun!!

Then yesterday afternoon, I went out on a “Date” with my DD Gracie!  She had a tough orthodontist appt first and then I had a work errand to run, but after that it was all fun!!

We ate at Olive Garden then hit the mall, Target and then Krispy Kreme!  It was a good bonding time in celebration of her STRAIGHT A report card!!

Gracie got some earrings, a bow, 2 lace headbands, 2 pairs of shorts, a shirt and a bikini. I got a hat, some earrings, a purse and 2 ear cuffs.

When I got home I did a mini workout~

Lunges paired with shoulder exercise

5 sets of 20 lunges total; 3 sets lateral raises, 3 sets shoulder press and 1 sets front raises between sets

Please chime in on today’s contest post ~

I’m off to get some orders shipped, go get groceries and get in my workout~ I’m hitting the gym for a mish, mosh of back and legs–HEAVY SMITH LUNGES BABY!! Then after school it’s off to the races again– Guitar lessons and Awana.
Let’s have STELLAR DAY ladies!!
Love,
Michelle

#3-FinishingThoughts:
Where are you in your journey?  I’ve made major progress over the last 10 weeks.  I lost the remainder of my baby weight and then some and I’m feeling stronger, more confident and happy to be back in my pre-pregger clothes.  My daily habits have adapted considerably and take less thought…like my water intake, protein and green focused meals, etc.

Did you reach your goals and aspirations?  Yes, my goal was to be more fit at 32 and after two babies than before.  I’m  feeling leaner than before and have been bit by the lifting bug.  I hadn’t focused on strength training since college so it’s amazing to be back at it.

Where do you see this challenge brought you?  It brought back some of my focus to me when I was accustomed to caring for everyone else first.  Now, at least I’m on the daily agenda!

Do you have any lingering concerns?  No, just hoping to recommit and focus on my next goals.

Do you feel you made an impact on your legacy during this contest?  Yes!  I’ve got my mojo back!

your WHY?  I want to show my daughter, now 7 months old, how to be a strong and confident woman and lead my family by example. I tell myself all the time…be the example and also challenge= change! J

Did you feel the support group helped you stay on track?  Yes, I enjoy the rally room but read more than blogging myself.  I’ve fallen off over the last several weeks but look forward to staying connected.  Knowing there is a network of women out there striving toward similar goals is motivating and  inspiring.  Plus, whenever I have posted, I got great feedback and positive boosts from the ladies.

What tactics did you use to stay focused and engaged for the entire 70 days?  I set my POA every Sunday and making those intentions a conscious decision helped me.  Also, making sure I kept the house stocked with my good eats was crucial.

Did you reward yourself when you hit certain goals along the way?  Yep, I finally got my hair cut since having the babe!

What other thoughts are in your head at the moment?  I loved the weekly challenges and will miss those or have to set them for myself again!  My favorite weeks were the 100 lunges a day, 10 vacuums per day and the three greens a day.

#4- Comment about your HORMONES
Did you GET to know your body? Yes and no.  I still don’t have a cycle due to nursing  and have been tracking how I feel but I think it will take a few more months for me to figure out my c-days.

Did you learn about your good c-days, your bad c-days, your weight fluctuations, etc?… Sort of.. I had much more awareness of my body and  how I was feeling.  It was the first time I was really evaluating how I felt daily and considered the impact that hormones could be playing.  Before this challenge, I never even considered hormones as a factor.  OF course with two small kids, I always assumed my physical and mental state was a reflection on how much sleep we were getting.  Now, I’m aware of our sleep but also hormones, water, nutrition, etc.
Did anything surprise you?  Yes, I was really concerned about nursing and keeping up my production while upping my workouts and changing my diet with significantly more greens.  I worried that it could make our baby, Joy, gassy or something if my milk changed.  Thankfully, It hasn’t had any negative impact on that front. Yay!

#5- Favorite Journal/Blog Posts
take a peek back at your blogs– what were some of your favorite entries from the 10 weeks?  Probably just my enthusiasm and eagerness at the beginning of the 10 weeks.

Did anyone else’s impact you along the way?  Yes, definitely.  I love that the RR is filled with women of all ages and stages of fitness.   Whether someone was prepping for a competition or just trying to lose some lbs, the group is very inviting and supportive.  They continue to inspire me to get better!

BEFORE~

AFTER~

Now is the time for TRUTH!

Over the past several months, TRUTH has been a recurring theme in my life. What is the TRUTH about a situation, a circumstance, a thought or a perspective?  TRUTH is hard to pin down.  Even when we believe that something is TRUE, it may or may not be true at all??  The world is not black and white…TRUTH is elusive.  Our minds can trick us into believing something is true that is utterly false.  Satan (the DEVIL) – the ultimate deceiver- loves to attack us which makes our search for the TRUTH even more elusive.

I have discovered that TRUTH is dependent…what is TRUE to one person is not True to others.  What is TRUE in one situation is not often true in another almost exact situation.  Truth in life is dependent on all the circumstances, thoughts, emotions, relationships and ideas that surround it.  Searching for TRUTH is frustrating and confusing and empty.  Every year as experiences, hurts, failures, and even successes occur…the search for truth can make us literally insane!  In my humaness, I have less of an understand about TRUTH now than ever.  BUT…..

Jesus said “I am the way, the TRUTH and the Life”…Now is the time for TRUTH!  The TRUTH is that I need Jesus or my head will keep spinning out of control trying to figure out TRUTH on my own.  I cannot do it!  I need the TRUTH- I need JESUS.  Through faith in Him, I will be set free form the bondage of being confused about TRUTH!  I don’t need to know the TRUTH when I have Jesus.  In all essence the truth does not matter~ LOVE matters!  And that’s why Jesus is TRUTH because he is LOVE (God is LOVE).  And LOVE covers a multitude of sins…TRUTH is irrelevant when true love exists.  The only TRUTH in life is LOVE…the UNCONDITIONAL Love that God has given us through Jesus Christ.  I want that love, I want that TRUTH in my life…And I want to BE a GIVER of that TRUE LOVE!

That’s the TRUTH!

And I LOVE YOU!  Because God Loves you!

Today my little Layla is home sick…I am not sure how sick she actually is, but she was determined that she didn’t want to go to school today and that she felt bad enough to stay in bed with NO TV all day. So…she’s in bed.  I hope she gets feeling back to her “spunky” self soon.

My workout yesterday was attacked by HIF~ I warmed up for  a little over 20 mins on the r-bike and then only got in 2 of my lifts (bench and lat pulls) and they were cruddy at that.  I just didn’t feel it and I had back pain to boot…needless to say my period came a few hours later.  Today I feel a bit better and am happy it’s already cycle day 2…buffing is coming soon!! YAY!!  The good thing about yesterday is that I was totally “nesting”…so that means I was a total Domestic Diva!  I cleaned, cooked, did laundry, sheets, etc… I even cooked a turkey!  YUM!

POA- run outside, finish up some upper body exercises that I skipped yesterday and do some abs too.

Other to do items:
Phone calls regarding bills, taxes, business, etc…
Bills

Have a good day and remember what is TRUE today…Love is TRUE!

Love,

Michelle
