Name: Monika Ellis of Texas
Number of children and ages: 1 (20 yrs old)
Why did you enter the “Shine in 49” contest by BuffMother?
I had decided that I needed to add some muscle to my body (I dance a lot, and dancing puts a lot of pressure on joints, I was starting to hurt. I know that I need muscle to support the joints and bones and was not building muscle while dancing), and came across Buffmother online. I read through the web and loved the idea of the contest to jump start my plan.
What tactics did you use to stay focused and engaged for the entire 49 days?
I was every day in the RR, I read as much as I could. And I read Michelle’s book. I tried to get as informed as I could and then simply did my best to follow the advice I had learned.
How do you feel about your success?
I feel awesome, very proud, I did not think I would make this much progress in so little time. I am in it for life now!
What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to attain your goals?
My biggest obstacle is being perimenopausic and not knowing exactly what my cycles will bring. I have also noticed much more difficulty to lose weight than ever before and I was constantly hungry!
What would you like to tell the world about BuffMother ?
Michelle is a genius. Her program works for women of all ages; I am just another proof of that. It is a well-balanced program that can be followed a long long time – for the rest of your life, actually. The way she organized the program and the knowledge she has put in to cement all this, is broad and makes sense in every word. Adding the Rally Room for accountability and encouragement is another very important factor. If you follow what Michelle proposes, you have only one way: to succeed!
Can I have your permission to post your entry online?
Yes, sure you do have that permission!

Hello Michelle,
Here my 2 photos, and my entry form, filled out with beginning and ending stats.
I had a lot of fun with the contest, I am very pleased with the result and I take it as a first step for what I hope will be years of being healthier and better looking thanks to your wonderful work.
I would like to thank you for all the study and dedication that you have put into this. I guess you do know how it makes a “newbie” feel, when in case of doubt or on a low day, the beautiful Michelle drops you a line and gives personalized advice…that is strong medicine! I did appreciate it, your program convinces, it speaks for itself and the research and experiments you have put into it are paying off for so many women. Yes, your dream will come true, a revolution and a new future for women all over the country and over the world!
God bless you and yours, Michelle, please keep working for all us women.
Btw. I had my doubts, but you are right, your program works even for women in their menopause, and I am so happy about that!
Again thanks and I will stick around!
Sincerely,
Monika Ellis
