"Sizzlin' in 6": Week 1; Day 1

MONDAY MAY 2nd is DAY 1 of our contest!!!

Congrats!! and THANKS! for trusting me with your body~ Over the next 6 weeks my goal is to get you Sizzlin’ HOT for Summer.

We have a lot of work to do so let’s get started:

Today I’d like you to focus on 3 items:

#1- Getting in a great FIRST workout- Upper body, Intervals and ABS are on tap- please see Sizzlin’ in 6: Day 1

#2- Start improving your Diet- I challenge you to limit  DESSERTS/CANDY/ALCOHOL in your life for the next 6 weeks. For those of you who are really brave you can challenge yourself to completely ELIMINATE them all together!!  In the place of dessert- you can indulge in Fruit.  Let’s make a huge focus on what foods WE CAN EAT!!  You can always eat Fruit, Veggies, Proteins and FAT (yes, I said fat)!!

#3- Take a set of starting photos and stats.  You need to measure your success and you’ll be thankful when you are done that you have proof of where you started!!  Photos: take at least 3- front, side and back.  Stats: take ate least 5:  Weight, Bust, waist, hip, and thigh.

Remember to simply take 1 day at a time…BABY STEPS!  Each and every positive desicion will add up towards your success.

Let’s Sizzle!!

-Michelle

  1. Day 1 done!! Had fun in the beautiful southern california weather and I am ready to get fit for summer!!

  2. you are almost right on track since we had upper body today…tomorrow is legs 🙂

  3. congrats on your 4th!!! You will have great results~ I can’t wait to see either!!!

  4. Yesterday morning I thought to myself, I really need something to get me motivated and a challange for summer. I open up my email and this pops up – What a sign!! Time to gear up and get sizzlin;)

  5. Hi! just starting day one. Off to a slow start but finding the power within to do this for ME. Good luck to everyone.

  6. Just finished Day 1 workout. I am totally surprised @ how much I am sweating after 20 min intervals!!! Getting ready for Day 2!

  7. I am a P90Xer fan – basically wanting to slow the aging process (I am 47), stay young and healthy for my kids and husband. I was looking to change things a bit just to keep the variety – spice of life! This looks like a good place to do just that! Not knowing what to expect worked on biceps, triceps and shoulders today. Downloaded your program and will look for Day 2 tomorrow. Thank you!

  8. Oh yeah, you worked it!! Get that fire burning and you’ll be sizzlin’ in no time!

  9. After baby #4, it is time to get back on track…can’t wait to see the results of all my hard work.

    Thanks.

  10. Got my workout done- it was a good one- took just about 20 mins:
Upright bike/push up/seated sprints as a circuit for my intervals- bike 2 mins, 15 push ups, sprint with my arms only 50 reps each arm- repeat 5 times.
Fyi on those seated sprints (great for any one with leg injuries) this is what I mean: Sit on your butt on the floor with your feet out in front of you and mover your arms like you are jogging- after 1 min move your arms like you are sprinting fast!! do that for 60 seconds- rest for 1 min with jogging speed arm movement- repeat. It’s a great interval workout without using your legs~ ♥ NO EXCUSES!!

  11. Awww, you are so sweet…you can do it!! You deserve to take some time to care for YOU!

  12. Change can be scary and tears are part of the journey- good for you on starting strong Vikki!

  13. Day 1 has been a journey full of excitement, a few tears, and lots of hope and optimism. Stats and pics are done. Food is getting cleaner by the minute. I just need to get my UB & Ab workout done (which I’m going to do as soon as I’m done here) and get in the rest of my water. Overall, a great day! Thanks for the challenge, Michelle! 🙂

  14. Day 1 almost complete! Still need to get in the upper body and abs and I’m done for the day. Eats have been good today. Ready to see results this time!

  15. I have made a commitment to not drink anymore wine for 6 weeks. It’s going to be tough but I know it will be good for me and my body

  16. I have 4 kids and work full time in the military. I know how it is to have no energy or time but I’m so thankful for buffmother to give us a starting point and something to look forward to! 🙂

  17. Wow I feel so great today! I’ve been doing 40 Days to Fit and this has just boosted my motivation even more! I blasted my Upper Body work out, hitting a TON of PBs! Fasted Intervals and Abs were also good Work outs. I feel strong right out of the gate and I’m optomistic about the rest of the “Sizzlin’ In 6”!

  18. The timing of this is great. Just completed a half marathon this weekend and feeling great. Today was a great dayand eats were good. Getting ready to knock out the workout now.

  19. Cd3 for me so not that energetic but I did day 1 and feel proud cuz normally I would have talked myself right out of a workout on a day like today!

  20. Just got all my notes and all your information organized in a binder and ready to carry everywhere with me, did the workout, ran, ate good and I am full of energy where I would normally be crashed on the couch at this time. Come on bikini!!!

  21. Finally finished even though I hate doing workouts late at night! Maybe once my husband is home (he’s on the road for 11 days) I can try to get them done earlier in the day. Eating is good – been moderately paleo for a few months now and already lost 25 pounds. Gotta get about 5 more to desired weight after baby #3 … I think this will get me there! Thanks!!

  22. Im done!! Late getting it done as I couldnt find the pdf lol might of been due to time diff for us, but anyhow, shes done and dusted for today..eats were bang on today ..woohoo..lets go Day 2!

  23. I love the name of this 6 week challenge! I don’t know if you saw it on your blog, but it was one that I had suggested. How cool! : )

So, today I got a really good workout in! I did 15 minutes of arms (Tamilee Webb video), followed by a 30 minute ab workout (Jillian Michaels video), and a 20 minute total body workout (Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 video)

I’m really excited to reshape my figure!

  24. So glad you posted another challenge. I just finished the 40 day challenge and I’m excited to keep it up. I had great results with the first one and expect great things this next go around too!

  25. Great workout, Michelle-Thanks. Wore my heart rate monitor 400 cal! This is exactly what I needed to get my mojo back! Thank you!!

  26. Over the past 2 years during the worst time of my life (47 and going through a divorce) I lost 100lbs and over half of my body fat. I did it the healthy way eating right and exercising. I’m down to losing the last 15-20lbs. I seem to be stuck in a rut so hoping this contest pushes me to the next level

  27. I’m in a hotel working a conference this week, this will be a real challenge, but I’m up for it! thanks for the support and accountability which has been lacking.

  28. Super excited about starting this! Delivered my third, and final baby 12 weeks ago. I’m 8 lbs away from pre pregnancy weight but want to lose a little more and tone everything up. Can’t wait to see my results.

  29. Just finished printing day 1, excited to start and ready to go! Got back on my bike Sunday for 25 miles for the first time in a while and committed to a ride every day. This 6 week challenge came at the right time – I have been caregiving and it has left me tired and plump. I WANT TO GET FIT AND BACK IN SHAPE. Thanks to all of you for the support in advance 🙂

  30. Hey Bonnie, way to go! Have you thought about riding a bike to trim the last lbs? It leaves you feeling refreshed and might just do the trick. I have convinced some girlfriends to try it and they were amazed at the results. Good luck~!!

  31. Day 1 for me today. I’m picking up from the last contest which I did not submit final info. for. Happy to say though that from last contest I’m down 7 pounds, 4″ from waist! This one I’m dedicated to submitting my after results. Looking forward to seeing what I look like in June!

  32. I just posted everything on my facebook: My stats = 40-34-40-25. I wear a size 14. I desire to be a size 9/10. I’m 53 years old and don’t look half bad for my age, but it’s time to polish up and sculpt my body.I’ve been pumping iron and running for years, so my guess is that my NUTRITION needs an overhaul. I can’t wait to see what I look like after six weeks. My photos aren’t disappointing, they give me a place to start.

  33. So, since it is my day 1 but actually Tuesday do we do Upper body still? 🙂

  34. GREAT attitude!! Keep up that positivity and you will see amazing changes!!

  35. You are at the start of the BEST 2 years of your life- believe it!! Love your gun picture 🙂

  36. 12 weeks post par-tum is a great time to get on the attack to your best body ever!!!

  37. Keep your diet focus on proteins and greens and of course WATER!! you need tons of water if you are talking alot 🙂

  38. Maybe it was you…we got tons of feedback about name, Thanks!!
    Great workouts today!!

  39. Do monday’s if you are on day 1- I changed the pdf to say day 1, day 2, etc…

  40. Yes!! you did have awesome results in the SSS!! Glad you are not satisified and ready to keep getting more SIZZLIN!!

  41. You go TERRY!! 25 miles is a great first ride back… i bet you are feeling it!!

  42. Ok so today is actually MAY 3 and my SECOND day for Sizzlin’ In 6 but my link to today’s blog in my email isn’t working so I’m posting again on day 1. MICHELLE if you see this, this is me posting for *DAY 2*!!!!! I’m trying to get my accountability in!! I feel like I’m doing really well on my diet and busted my rear (haha!) on Lower Body today. I only have 4 more days of BUFFING before I start my first BOOSTING phase. I hope I dont bomb out….EEK!

  43. This is it! I’m ready for a big change may 3rd is Day 1 of the rest of my life. I’m 5’4” and 209 lbs. Yuck!
But I love the feeling of being sore after a good workout!

  44. I got my Day 1 in! I did shoulders and ran sprints for my cardio. Great eating day–actually I did my Day 2 of Phase I South Beach. This challenge came at exactly the right time for me as I began Day 1 of Phase I South Beach starting Mon May 2. I had to go to this drastic measure cause I’ve been i indulging in too much sugar and have to restore my body to it’s “non sugar” state. I was very successful with the SB Phase 1 back in November 2005–it was the impetus that led me to make serious change at that time where I successfully went from size 14-16 down to size 6 between 2005-2006. I maintained myself at that size up until this past year where I”ve been slowly creeping up–nearing size 10 right now and I don’t want to go “there”. So, thanks for the challenge–I”m looking forward to feeling great again! Thank you Buffmother for the inspriation right when I needed it.

  45. Sorry I posted my first on yours Catrice! Nice way to meet you–by “bumping” into your comment 🙂 I’m looking forward to this challenge as well–here’s to Day 2/3 whichever you’re on

  46. Woohoo!! Yesterday I did elliptical and weights and today it looks like I’ll be doing your workout!!
Negative note-Still away from home, staying in a hotel.
Positive note-Went to wal-mart to get fruit& tuna (so I can make some good choices) !!

  47. Day 1 partially completed. It was great to have the workout already prepared for me this morning. It truly helped me to get past my 5 am fog. Intervals and abs in the afternoon.

  48. Today is my day 1.
I was always fit, but after kids I had multiple hernias and total diastasis of my abdomin. I looked great besides my pregnant looking belly. I had hernia repair and a tummy tuck 2 1/2 months ago. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I am still really sore and swollen. I have gained 12lbs because of lack of exercise. Dr finally gave me the ok to workout. I need some help getting out of this Easter Candy slump!!! I am so mad at myself. Who spends $7000 on a tummy tuck and gains weight? Wish me luck ladies!

  49. Sorry you are having to travel so much. I bet you miss your kids…anyhow You are kickin’ tail!!

  50. GREAT to hear you appreciate my help 🙂 @5am my brain does not work at all!

  51. Day 1 down. Workout done, no sweets, alcohol, or dessert. Dairy in my latte….may give that up next week. Baby steps. 🙂

  52. I am getting married next June but wanted to make health and fitness a lifestyle, did lifting and diet well yesterday, what happens if I can only make the gym 3 times a week?

  53. First day went well yesterday, ate clean and did good workout, what happens if I can only get to the gym 3 times a week ? P.s. Is honey allowed in tea?

  54. I am so excited! I am already sore from my workout yesterday, but I will fight through it…I love working upper body. When do we submit pictures?

  55. Checkingg in for my day one. Weighed in first thing this am and will take pictures later. This was my power yoga day yesterday i did abs and chest/triceps.

  56. Well here I go again. After 2 months of slacking due to a bad breakup I am ready to start again. I am kind of discouraged cause I have PMS….

  57. Well, I just started day 1 yesterday, the work out was good, my abs hate me today my upper body feels ok (Doing the at home workouts)… but i failed on the diet part, those cokes kill me I need to add them to the list of deserts to cut out completely.

  58. Thank you for giving at home ways to do the work outs that makes it more doable for me and I am ready for this change in my body and health.
